Atlanta Braves: A Review

Yesterday, Sunday, I traveled from Charlotte to Atlanta to watch an Atlanta Braves game. The drive was about 4-1/2 hours each way. In case you're thinking of going to a Braves game, here is my review and opinion of everything involved.

The Game: 9/10. The Braves played the Marlins. It was a really interesting, close game. The players did a great job (for the most part), including the Braves' left fielder diving over a wall into the crowd to catch a fly ball. The only reason it wasn't a 10 was the horrible play of the Marlins in the 10th inning. After 9 innings, it was tied 3-3. The Marlins scored 4 in the top of the 10th, but then committed 4 errors (not all were scored as errors, but they were errors all the same) in the bottom of the 10th to allow the Braves to score 5. Other than that inning, it was a great game.

United Professionals Advocacy Group

I received an email from someone called Richard Rhorer. He wanted me to "spread the word" about his new organization, "United Professionals Advocacy Group," so I will. Before I do, what impression do you have of a group with that name? Sound like people with money who want to do good? Does it sound like educated people who might know what they'd doing? I'm sure that's the impression they want you to have.

The United Professionals Advocacy Group was started with $100,000 from the "Service Employees International Union." Can you see where this is going?

The United Professionals Advocacy Group is a communist front group. They have been formed to lobby Congress to take away American freedom. They want employees to paid for staying home -- it's not clear whether they want the government to pay them directly, or if they want the government to force businesses to pay their former employees. Either way, they oppose anyone being permitted to be unemployed.

The United Professionals Advocacy Group also supports government paying for all education for any employees -- whether they're working or unemployed, whatever skills they want to learn, this group wants government (that's you, the taxpayer) to pay for any and all re-education skills that are desired.

In addition, The United Professionals Advocacy Group is strongly opposed to citizens having any freedom of medical choice, They want to lobby Congress to prohibit people from buying health insurance or any health care -- they want government to force others to provide healthcare for anyone who wants for it and saddle those who work and take care of themselves to pay for the health care of those who do NOT work and those who engage in risky behavior.

So, lovers of freedom, beware of The United Professionals Advocacy Group. They STRONGLY oppose you.

Marie Watters Colton: BIGGER Government

Marie Watters Colton, writing an opinion piece in the Asheville Citizen Times, really, really, really dislikes freedom. She writes an entire article devoted to explaining why government can spend money better than individuals. She complains and describes why any government spending is good and that anyone who dares oppose MORE spending (for any reason) is evil. Marie Watters Colton is a clear communist, an enemy of freedom and America.

Here's some of the areas that she supports more, more, and MORE government spending:

Education. She likes that education is funded at the highest level in history. Of course, the fact that children are not BEING educated does not matter in the least. What's important is that the education system is spending money. Results have nothing to do with spending. If they spend MORE, they actually claim to be successful.

Job Creation. She is happy when government creates jobs. In her mind, that is a purpose of government. In a free society, government creates ZERO jobs, but instead ensures the climate for job creation is free.

Health Care. She is happy that government is spending MORE to provide health care for "uninsurable" people. That means that those of us who do good things with our health and care for our bodies are forced at gunpoint to pay for the healthcare of those who do not.

Mental Health. More spending, more giveaways, more freebies -- at the expense of the taxpayer, of course. Private businesses always used to do this function, why is only government qualified to do it now?

Children's Health. Piles and piles of cash giveaways here. After all, it's for the children, so if you oppose spending hundreds of millions, you're evil. Once again, the fact that the taxpayer must pay for other people's bad decisions, against their will, never seems to matter to these anti-freedom people.

Increased Teacher Pay. What a deal. Do nothing and get more money. Don't increase output, get more cash. Show up for work and get a giant raise. Once again, the concept of results is foreign to these people. Just spend more money on teachers because it's a nice thing to do -- at least to buy the votes of teachers, anyway.

5.5% raise for State Employees. And again -- zero increase in output, huge pay increase. How many people do you know who got a 5.5% pay increase and had to do absolutely nothing extra to get it? It's called vote buying, nothing more.

Folks, this is today's Democrat Party. They celebrate anything that results in less freedom and more government. Once again, if you hate earning your own money, please vote Democrat.

Charlotte and Mecklenburg Taxpayers

A guest editorial by Mr. Peabody of Take Back Charlotte Mecklenburg:

“Charlotte Taxpayers Taking It up Backside.”

Following questions and facts have been presented to Mayor Pat McCrory, City Council members, Ron Tobor and City Officials. Officials take Mayor Magoo's insight to "Pass the Buck and allow the taxpayers take it up the backside."

September 6, 2006 was reported that cost of South Corridor Light Rail would oversee $426 million dollar budget. Again, costs have gone up. All major construction projects that occur in the states have been hit significantly with higher cost. If the project were managed by proper planning and insight, Charlotte would not have this predicament. FedÂ’s do not help with cost overruns ever been very few exceptions. The extra cost usually falls upon local taxpayer, unless the state will participate. Look at I-485 that shows the answer. more...

Poopie List

Sure to earn a smile from all but the most, ummm... "stuck" up?

GHOST POOPIE: The kind where you feel the poopie come out, but there is no poopie in the toilet.

CLEAN POOPIE: The kind where you poopie it out, see it in the toilet, but there is nothing on the toilet paper.

WET POOPIE: The kind where you wipe your butt 50 times and it still feels unwiped, so you have to put some toilet paper between your butt and your underwear so you won't ruin them with stains.

SECOND WAVE POOPIE: This happens when you're done poopie-ing and you've pulled your pants up to your knees, and you realize that you have to poopie some more.

POP-A VEIN-IN-YOUR-FOREHEAD POOPIE: The kind where you strain so much to get it out, you practically have a stroke.

LINCOLN LOG POOPIE: The kind of poopie that is so huge you're afraid to flush without first breaking it into little pieces with the toilet brush.

GASSY POOPIE: It's so noisy, that everyone within earshot is giggling.

DRINKER'S POOPIE: The kind of poopie you have the morning after a long night of drinking. It's most noticeable trait is the skid marks on the bottom of the toilet.

CORN POOPIE: Self explanatory.

GEE-I-WISH-I-COULD-POOPIE POOPIE: The kind where you want to poopie but all you do is sit on the toilet and fart a few times.

SPINAL TAP POOPIE: That's where it hurts so badly coming out, you'd swear it was leaving you sideways.

WET CHEEKS POOPIE (The Power Dump): The kind that comes out so fast, your butt cheeks get splashed with water.

THE DANGLING POOPIE: This poopie refuses to drop in the toilet even though you are done poopie-ing it. You just hope that a shake or two will cut it loose.

THE SURPRISE POOPIE: You're not even at the toilet because you are sure you are about to fart, but *oops* --- a poopie!

This is a classic, but always a good one if you haven't seen it (and even if you have). Go here, but be sure you have your speakers on -- it does NOT work without them. Don't worry, it's safe for work and won't do anything bad. It's just damn funny.

And if you're not laughing with the page loaded once, open it 4 times in four different browers. Anyone near you will be dying laughing soon.

No Tolerance for Intolerance

The Muslim government of Pakistan is mad. They are screaming and yelling that they will simply not accept the intolerance of the Pope because they demand everyone be tolerant. They cannot tolerate the Pope being intolerant. In fact, they even now claim that anyone who is intolerant "encourages violence." Therefore, Pakistan, by not tolerating the Pope's remarks is encouraging violence. I think they're encouraging nuclear violence.

The religious war continues, whether you want to admit it or not. This IS a war between religions that is worldwide. It's the Muslims against everyone else because that's what the Muslims WANT. If you're a Muslim and you don't want war, you need to speak up because the entire nation of Pakistan just set down their position very clearly. They want war.

Jesus Banned, Bush doesn't care

A chaplain was reprimanded for daring to utter the word "Jesus" while wearing a military uniform. That's a $3,000 fine these days, in case you were wondering. In case you didn't get that the first time, that's a $3,000 fine for saying the word, "Jesus" while wearing a military uniform.

Bush's spokesman said

"The president believes that chaplains ought to be free to express their religious beliefs," Snow said. "He further believes in allowing the military to handle its own issues."

Apparently Bush is not aware that HE is the commander in chief and HE is the one that gets to decide the rules for the military. Jesus: Banned in the American Military.

Jim Black at Criminal Trial

Jim Black, Democrat Speaker of the House, has now been called to testify in the criminal trial against his close personal friend, Kevin Geddings, who was appointed by Jim Black to the corrupt lottery commission of North Carolina.

What may be most interesting to watch in the case is Black's testimony. Gedding claims that he told Black about his conflict of interest. Black claims he did not. But anything Black says in the testimony will likely be used against Black in his own criminal investigations. Will Jim Black end up taking the fifth amendment in his testimony?

Democrats Spend

In a news item you might have missed, the top Democrats in North Carolina agreed to spend piles and piles of money. What for? Psychiatric hospitals, University medical programs, a new "public health" lab, and expanding the museum of Art.

This is the result of the Democrat viewpoint. Democrats believe their mission, once elected, is to spend money. They honestly think that they know better than you how to spend your money. They would be happier if you would just give them ALL your money, and they'd spend it as it should be spent.

There was a vote by the council of state. The vote passed 4-3. The 4 were all Democrats, the 3 were all Republicans. The money? Oh, it's bonds, so the taxpayers don't actually have to pay it -- at least that's what the Democrats claim. The part that I think Democrats really don't understand is that bonds are a loan that has to be paid back. Seriously, I don't think they comprehend that concept at all.

But hey, when taxes go up, the legislature will claim they "had" to raise taxes to meet obligations. The obligations are paying back the damn loan. If you hate keeping the money you earn, keep voting for Democrats.

Never Ask A Gunny

If you're not familiar with the Marine Corps and it's ranking system, I'll give a little background before the joke: A "Gunny" is a gunnery sgt. It is the 7th rank in the enlisted ranks. They work their way up from private and every damn last one of them is ornery. They're not high enough in the chain of command to run an entire unit, but they're high enough to catch a lot of crap -- and they're high enough to have lots of others to dump the crap on. Now, on to the joke:

A young Marine officer was in a serious car accident, but the only visible permanent injury was to both of his ears, which were amputated. Since he wasn't physically impaired he remained in the Marine and eventually rose to the rank of General. He was, however very sensitive about his appearance. One day the General was interviewing three Marines for his personal aide. The first was an aviator, and it was a great interview. At the end of the interview the General asked him, Do you notice anything different about me?

The young aviator officer answered, why yes, sir. I couldn't help but notice that you have no ears. The general got very angry at the lack of tact and threw him out.

The second interview was with a female Lieutenant, and she was even better. The General asked her the same question, Do you notice anything different about me?

She replied, Well, sir, you have no ears. The General threw her out also. The third interview was with a Marine Gunny. He was articulate, looked extremely sharp and seemed to know more than the two officers combined (surprise).

The General wanted this guy, and went ahead with the same question, Do you notice anything different about me?

To his surprise the Gunny said, Yes sir; you wear contacts lenses.

The General was very impressed and thought, what an incredibly observant Gunny, and he didn't mention my ears. And how do you know that I wear contacts? The General asked.

The sharp-witted Gunny replied, Well, sir, it's pretty hard to wear glasses with no freaking ears.

ACLU Supports...Terrorists

Crossposted from: Stop The ACLU

Via ACLU

Today, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that attorneys seeking to represent indigent clients are no longer required to sign documents swearing that they are not terrorists and have no involvement with terrorist groups. The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio had challenged the provision, which is part of the Ohio Patriot Act, calling the requirement unnecessary red tape that will do nothing to prevent terrorism.

"We are pleased the court recognized that attorneys should not be forced to sign these ineffective and offensive pledges," said ACLU of Ohio Executive Director Christine Link. "The Ohio Patriot Act is an assault on the fundamental liberties of all Ohioans. Hopefully, this decision is a stepping stone to reining in this overreaching and flawed law."

I have only one question here. Why does the ACLU of Ohio have a problem giving an oath that they are not terrorists and are not involved with terrorist groups? What the law is attempting to do is ensure people have not supported terrorist organizations. more...

ADA Screws some more

In yet another in the unending streams of absolutely stupid government decisions, a judge has now ruled that the rules set forth (stupidly and in opposition to freedom) in the Americans with (any) Disabilities Act somehow applies to web sites.

That's right, all the "accomodations" that are required by the ADA that often crush competition, destroy freedom, and force private companies to go out of business are now supposed to apply to the internet. Government is really angry that they don't have control over the internet, and they're doing all they can to GET control.

In this one specific issue, the complaintant is actually crying and whining because one company's web site doesn't have alternate text for some images. For those who don't know much about web stuff, that's an element of a tag -- when you use the IMG tag, you're "supposed" to include a section that says ALT="imagename" or something. And now, according to this judge, if you do not include it, you're in violation of the ADA and subject to huge fines.

The ADA: yet another horrible law that does nothing more than grow government and crush freedom. Well, the case is being overseen by a San Francisco Federal judge -- and they absoultely despise anything to do with freedom.

UNCC Fined

Oh, this one is really rich. It seems that the NC Department of Labor has fined The University of NC at Charlotte for "violations." So, what has this accomplished?

Let's see, the taxpayers have to foot the bill for the inspectors and other bureaucrats who decided to fine the school. All the salaries of the employees at the school who were responsible for the "violations" are paid by taxpayers. And how about the fine? Take a guess. Yup, the taxpayers provide the money to pay the fine. So, where does the fine go? To the department of Labor.

Tell me again where this is a government by the people and for the people? This is a government that simply exists to spend money on itself and expand. What a total load of crap.

Freedom Loses Again

Bad news across the country based on election results.

Yet another Democrat registered as a Republican wins an election in Rhode Island. The National Republican Party (non-conservative) strongly supported Chafee, and his campaign actively wooed Democrats (in a Republican primary). Look, if Rhode Island is Democrat, let them have a Democrat Senator. Yes, that would be better than someone who supports Democrat ideas while claiming to be Republican.

In other news, enemy of the United States CAIR-supported candidate Keith E. Hakim, err... for the election, please call him Keith Ellison, won a Democrat primary in MN. He is running in a district that has returned a Democrat to the US House for the last 28 years, and is highly favored to win. And not only is he a member of the religion that wants to destroy America, he's a racist, socialist, and loves illegal immigrants, too.

So the transformation from The United States of America to the caliphate of MexAmerica continues. Someone please let me know when a country is formed based on freedom, because I want to go there. Unfortunately, it seems I'm going to be alone there.
