Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday, Marines!

The Marines? Yeah, they're the Americans that have been fighting Islamic terrorists since 1801. Just in case you forgot.

Go thank a veteran today. (And yes, I know it's early, but it's Friday, and I don't know what you people will be doing all weekend!)

To: America From: Iraq

I have met many soldiers of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment; they are not only courageous men and women, but avenging angels sent by The God Himself to fight the evil of terrorism.

See what else the mayor of a town in Iraq has to say about the United States Military machine.

American Legion vs. Government

I like the American Legion. I suppose that's why I'm a member. And when they do things like this, it just makes me glad I'm a member (even if not a member of that post, nor even any California post).

You see, there's something called "tradition." This country was, whether you like it or not, founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. And these beliefs include a sense a right and wrong. Now I realize that there are a lot of people (especially in California) that simply do not believe in right and wrong. There are a lot of people that believe there is no absolute truth. Well, they're wrong.

In fact, it was George Washington that said a nation cannot survive without morals and religious principles. If you completely remove all things that are associated with Christianity from the country, you will end up with a lawless land full of evil and destruction. Literally, survival of the fittest will rule -- and I will be able to kill anyone that I want because it wouldn't be wrong.

There's nothing wrong with reciting "In the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost." Did you get that? It doesn't say anything about the person being buried, JUST in the eyes of a Christian citizen. There's NOTHING there that any sane person could possibly consider government endorsement of any religion.

So American Legion, keep up the good work -- the only way today to retain values, morals, and traditions is going to be to ignore the government no matter the cost.

US to God: Get Lost!

The open campaign to remove God from America continues. This time it's happening at The Washington Monument. We simply cannot, and will not, have any references to God Almighty in the country. It cannot be permitted. Why? Because in order to fully implement socialism, there can be NO higher power than government.

As usual, the government employees fall back on "I'm just doing my job."

I wish there were somewhere I could go that was interested in freedom. I wish there was somewhere I could go where I could worship whatever God I wanted without fear of history being changed against God. I wish there were a country that allowed full freedom of religion. Unfortunately, there's no such place today.

Sure, you can worship on your Sunday mornings (if the government gives you permission to do that in a certain place). And you can have your private thoughts about religion (for now). But any public expression of religion, if it's related to Christianity, simply will not be tolerated. If there is a historical event related to God, it will be censored. I wonder how soon it will be before all references to any higher power will be removed from the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution?

But at least we're not in fear of immediate retribution from God. While Soddom was destroyed because not one believer could be found, America still has a few left who honor and worship God. Those people may soon be in jail, as they have been in Canada and other countries, but for now America isn't jailing you for saying, "Jesus." Well, as long as you do it in the right place.

Oh, how I yearn for truth and freedom.

States vs. Feds

Do states have any say in anything? If the federal government makes a declaration, can any state, at any time, contradict their statements? Seriously, think about that question for a moment before you read on -- is there anything the federal government can say where the states can just tell the feds to get lost?

Keep in mind, according to the US Constitution, once the supreme law of the land:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

In other words, according to that ancient document, the states can nearly ALWAYS tell the federal government to take a hike. That's how things are supposed to be. Unless the law is supported by the Constitution directly, states are supposed to make up their own mind.

So then why can't California (and a few other states) make their own rules regarding auto emissions? California asked the EPA (there was the first mistake) for permission to make more restrictions on cars driving in the state. Apparently the EPA said "no." And for some reason, California said, "Gee, okay."

Hey California, how about growing a pair? Oh, right, it's California. But seriously, if California decided they wanted to create their own emission standards, how in the world could the federal government stop them? This is something I would LOVE to see. I'd love to see each state make their own standards and have the federal government run around trying to stop them. States SHOULD do this.

I know, you people who favor the auto industry say that it would be impossible for auto makers to comply with 50 different sets of regulations. I say, "SO WHAT!?!" That's a GOOD thing! It would make for more competition! It might make cars more expensive -- again, good for competition! I can see regional auto manufacturers! Man, would that be great. But "Big Auto" could never have that -- it might cut into their profits.

Once again, this shows that freedom can work -- and should work. It also shows that the federal government, state governments, and industry all working together CAN crush freedom. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

Freedom? Laws? Treason?

Are you free? If you live in America, do you truly believe that you are free?

What's treason? Seriously, can you think of something that meets the criteria for treason? I'm not talking about simplistic things, but REAL treason. What would someone have to do, in your mind, to be tried for treason. Keep in mind, the punishment for treason is death.

I'm not talking about impeachment or the like. I'm talking about REAL treason. How about the guy who threw a hand grenade in the tent of soldiers while he was a solider. Is that treason? What about spies who give away military secrets, whether employed by the CIA or the New York Times? Is that treason?

Oran's Law Dictionary says it is

"...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]."

Does it have to be a foreign government? Dictionary.com says:
1. the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

I suspect that in today's society that treason is simply not possible. Seriously. The last person convicted of treason in the United States was way back in 1952 -- a seriously different era. Treason is still against the law:
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

But note that is says "against" the United States. In other words, it would be utterly and completely impossible for any government official to be guilty of treason, wouldn't it? If the US Government were to suddenly declare martial law, anyone who disobeyed martial law would be guilty of treason -- members of the government would not.

So again I ask, can you think of anything that actually could rise to the level of treason where a person today would be tried and killed for it today? I cannot.

Arrested for Walking

The other week I posted a list of things you can carry that may get you arrested in America. It appears that I need to make another list, this time one of a list of things that you can do to get you arrested. And no, it wouldn't need to include criminal activities. Just walking down the road is grounds for arrest these days, apparently.

Picture this: If you were walking down a road, minding your own business, and I tried to give you a piece of paper, what would you do? You hadn't broken the law. You were in no danger. You were not dangerous to anyone else. Let's say that you decide to continue walking. Next, 4 of my friends grab you and drag you to the ground. Then we shove you in a car and take you away to a place and hold you there, not allowing you to leave. We search you and take some of your things, including a video camera. After about 6 hours, we throw you out in the street where we are (not where we grabbed you). Keep in mind -- you committed no crime. In fact, I don't even claim you committed any crime. So, is there anything wrong with that scene?

According to the federal government, no -- that's perfectly okay. Well, it's okay as long as I'm federal agent U.S. Marshal Steve Monier, that is.

You see, Lauren Canario was arrested because she failed to obey his orders to not walk on a certain road. Once again, there was nothing illegal -- no one was in danger of anything. The road was safe. But Steve Monier decided he didn't want Lauren to use the road (other people were allowed to use the road, but Steve Monier doesn't personally like Lauren, apparently). Steve Monier also stole Lauren's video camera. Once again, she was charged with NO CRIME -- but they're keeping the camera because they want to.

Welcome to today's America where government federal agents have total control and are accountable to no one.

Newest Dangerous Items

Ah, to be an "American" today. Of course, yes, I realize, there is no longer any such this as "America" or an "American Citizen" -- at least according to the courts and the legislatures of this once-great country, but still. The phrase "Only in America" still seems to apply.

There's a few of things you need to be warned about. There's a few new things that the police consider dangerous weapons. Be aware if you're found carrying any of these new things around, you are highly likely to be thrown in jail without any recourse. Sure, you might get a "trial" some day, but it will be one where the jurors don't know their powers and if you DARE to tell them their powers, the supreme God of the land (the judge) will throw you in jail again. Anyway, on to the latest dangerous things:

New Dangerous Item #1: Salt. If you are found with any quantity of this substance, especially if you spill ANY amount near a policeman, it may cost you $1000 and a night in jail. Oh, and that's not including any punishments that the judges might hand down. So BEWARE! Police in Union City, GA are taking this threat seriously. Do not carry or spill salt near policemen there or be prepared to spend the night in jail.

New Dangerous Item #2: Toy Plastic and Cardboard-Tube Guns -- especially ones that have "BAZOOKA" printed on them in big, cartoon, yellow letters. That's extra-scary. If you are found with one of these large piece of plastic in public, waving it about and pointing it at the sky, you're in trouble. And if you shoot it into the air with silly blue plastic "bullets" and let kids play with the toy, you will be arrested for being dangerous. I suppose if you broke it in half and poked someone with a pointy edge, you could put your eye out.

Dangerous Item #3: Iodine. Yes, that brown stuff that your mother used to put on your cuts is now, according to the DEA, just as bad a heroin. So if you've got a few capsules around that you use to purify water when you camp so you're not killed by microbes, you better consider what's more important to you -- purifying your water so you don't die; or having DEA agents break down your door and throw you in jail for "drug trafficking."

You know, normally I've always been pro-police. But crap like this really makes me dislike the police. Sure, go ahead and claim it's just a few of them -- sure doesn't look that way to me any more.

Fix a Fence, Go Directly to Jail

More and more these days, I'm being pushed to join the anarchists. I really don't want to. I don't want to be an enemy of government. I want government to work. But with each day I realize more and more that it's not going to happen. Government today in America is the supreme power and no one is allowed to challenge them. These days I think it is only a matter of time before they kill me for disobeying them.

How can ANYONE defend a government that jails someone for repairing a fence? Seriously. A man bought a house. It had a fence that was in poor repair. It was infested with termites. But the fence was ALREADY IN PLACE. The man thought the fence belonged to the city, so he asked the city to repair it. The city told the man that the fence belonged to him -- so he repaired it. Later, the city changed it's mind and decided they wanted owned the fence. So the city ordered him to put it back the way it was (presumably with termites and all). He did not.

He actually attempted to work with the city. He spent 142 hours trying to comply with the city. He failed. So what's the result? SIX MONTHS IN JAIL. In case you're not getting this:

Francisco Linares is going to JAIL for SIX MONTHS for repairing a fence

What kind of country is this? How can the city defend this (and they are)? Superior Court Judge Sandra Thompson is scum. Dean Pucci (city prosecutor) is total slime. I'm SO sick of "I'm just doing my job." Miserable Bastards, the lot of them. I cannot believe these scum-sucking excuses for human beings are throwing a man in jail for six months for repairing a fence.

I could understand if people revolted. Things like this are certainly excuses for armed rebellion. I wonder how fast the government would shoot Mr. Linares if he refused to report to jail? Imagine that -- this man could be killed BECAUSE HE REPAIRED A FENCE.

This country has nothing close to freedom left. I yearn for freedom, but I have little hope it will appear in this country ever again.

Update: JCard is blogging on this one, too.

Police State, FL

I know that when many of you read that title, you get turned off. I know some will read that title and think, "Oh, here goes that radical right-wing lunatic yelling that the sky is falling." Those of you who think that, please read on just a little bit more. I'm going to provide you a statement from a police officer in Florida, and I want you to think about it just for a moment:

When we tell someone to stop doing something and they say no, it becomes a battle of the wills, and our will will always win.

Those are the words of Police Sgt. Bill Pecci of Stuart, FL.

Please, just think and reflect for a moment on those words. Imagine a police officer saying them to you.

A policeman tells you to stop, and if you don't, you're jailed -- no matter what you're doing.

This case is about a policeman telling a woman to stop writing with chalk. No, she wasn't writing anything obscene, she was just writing. She was not harming anyone. She was not blocking traffic. She was not interfering with anyone. She was minding her own business, writing with chalk. The policeman apparently didn't like what she was writing, so it's off to jail for her. Seriously -- 60 days in jail for not listening to a policeman telling her to not write in chalk on the sidewalk.

She hasn't been convicted yet, but the police department and the prosecutor are continuing to attempt to have her jailed for disobeying the police officer.

Again, she did no harm to anyone. She didn't bother anyone. Heck, there's not even any reports that she "offended" someone. Instead, just because she disobeyed the police officer, she may be in jail.

Think about that next time you see a police officer. Think about that next time someone says the words, "police state." Disobey ANY request of an officer at your own risk. Yes, that IS a police state.

Nation of Laws, Part 2

The other day, I was musing about the lack of laws in America, and the fact that America was truly no longer a nation of laws. Harvey reminded me of an all too appropriate quote from Atlas Shrugged:

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris.
"We want them broken [...] There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

Is there anyone, anywhere, who can look at America today and contradict those statements? That clearly IS the system today.

Nation of Laws?

Is this country a nation of laws or a nation of men?

Is "intent" a portion of the law, or not?

In one case, we have massive "hate crimes" that punish thoughts. In another, we punish "intentions." But sometimes, depending on the political correctness of the crime, apparently, we punish based solely on actions, with no regard to intent.

So how in the world does one obey the laws and not get in trouble today in America? Do and think only what you are told, when you are told it. How is that not scary as hell?

As has been said throughout the ages:

In an unjust nation, the place of a just man is in jail.

Government vs. People

Here at this blog, I often complain about the government. I complain that it's no longer government for the people (or even by the people, any more). But sometimes readers may not completely understand what I'm talking about. To that end, here is an example of a government response and a freedom-based response:

Let's say you witness a situation created by government: the major roads leading into a city are congested with a large amount of traffic. Upon further observation, you can see that most of the traffic is created by individuals in their cars. While some observers may say that this is not even a problem, for the sake of discussion, we'll accept that there's a problem here.

Now, those who are interested in government-based solutions (socialists, communists, members of the Democrat Party, the media, etc) will all observe and see the problem. Then any solution that will be generated will be based on more government control. These types of people will look at the problem and say, "We've got to do something to STOP these people from creating the traffic jam." In this case, as can be witnessed around the country, government tries to STOP people from causing the traffic jam -- they attempt to force people into mass transit. They waste space trying to force people to drive in carpool lanes. They attempt to force people to stop driving by installing taxes and tolls. In all cases, however, all their efforts are focused on forcing people to do something.

In a freedom-based society, government would not try to force people to do anything (other than prevent them from forcing others to do things). A government that was for the people and by the people would instead ask questions like, "How can we let people do what they desire here and reduce the traffic?" They might actually build more roads. They might adjust the lanes so that more lanes are inbound in the mornings (and not HOV-only). They might move the government offices (and their employees) to a location that would remove those employees from the traffic streams. But in all cases, they would not try and adjust people and tell them what to do.

So go ahead and pick a side -- most people already have. Unfortunately, those who side with me, for freedom, often find themselves aligned against the government behemoth -- and paying for the government to take away their very own freedoms. I just wish more people honestly wanted freedom.

Iran Asks for Help

The people of Iran want help. I wonder who will help them.

According to the research, 58% of the people in Iran want help from a foreign military to remove I'mADinnerJacket from power. 79% of the people of Iran want a Democratic government, instead of the current Sharia totalitarian dictatorship. A full 43% of the people even support a military strike to stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb! And I'mADinnerJacket's approval rating is even lower than the US Congress: at 8%.

So, to those who oppose the war on terrorism, those who oppose the war in Iraq. To those who oppose Americans at war everywhere on the planet I have one question: would you help these people? These people who WANT help? These people who are begging for help in getting rid of a madman dictator?

Regardless of your opinions of the war in Iraq, how we got there, why we got there, current progress, etc. Who will stand up and tell these people, "Oh gee, sorry, if you want to get rid of your insane dictator, you're going to have to do it yourself because we're just not interested in helping."

I think perhaps it's time to withdraw from Iraq -- and into Iran. We would be welcomed by the people there.
