the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world
They also hold
the deepest respect [for] Muslims
Not ONE member of Congress voted against this. Not ONE member of Congress disagrees with the statement that Islam is great.
Yes, FoeHammer, The United States has submitted to Islam. Can Sharia law in the U.S. be far behind?

Dave Ridley from NHfree.com takes you to the front lines of the peaceful battle for liberty in New Hampshire. Ron Paul Revolutionaries, Free Staters, Ed Brown's standoff with Washington...in Live Free or Die country, history unfolds before your eyes. The Ridley Report is basically glorified raw video of key events, sparingly shot and narrated on the spot so it can be promptly uploaded with no need for editing. People say this is not possible. Decide for yourself.
But be warned...you never know what might pop up in the middle of the story!

You see, while the supporters of this legislation talk about how great it is, and how many children it will "save," they leave out parts. You only hear the "good" parts of the law, without hearing ALL the details. It's "nice" for all children to have health insurance without having to pay for it (even those whose parents earn up to $80,000 a year -- those "poor" people need help). It's "nice" to get "poor" children to the doctor.
But freedom isn't nice. It isn't evil, either. But freedom IS free. Freedom implies responsiblity. And true freedom is incapable of so-called "compassion."
If you support SCHIP, here is what you support:
You support people with guns, backed by the government, showing up to people's houses. You support midnight raids by the FBI and ATF breaking down people's doors and attacking them in the dead of night. You support people who do an honest day's work only getting paid 1/2 of what their work is worth. You support throwing people in jail and ruining their lives financially -- all so that YOU can feel better about thinking that you're helping poor children.
Government CANNOT "help" anyone without taking from someone else. In a free country, people could help people, but government would not be able to do so. Government produces nothing -- the ONLY way government can provide insurance for children is to break down people's doors and take things away from people who earned it. That's wrong, plain and simple.
Worse, government is SO bad at managing their money, after they break down your door and possibly shoot your or your dog or your family to get that $100 YOU earned, they will end up spending only about $30 of it on the actual insurance for the children.
Here's how it would work in a truly free country:
Anyone would be free to help any child, any where, any time. And no one would be forced at gunpoint to pay to help any other child. I am willing to bet MORE children would be helped in that situation than will ever be helped with this government program.

People who get on death row aren't nice folks. These aren't people you know in your neighborhood. Most of the people who find their way to death row are horrible, evil people who have done incredibly evil things. When someone rapes, molests, and tortures a young girl, why should we care if he feels pain?
I'm not saying that he should be killed for vengeance or retribution, but for justice. Someone who has done these acts is evil. They're not going to suddenly be cured and never do it again. Many who oppose the death penalty say he should be jailed for life. To those who support that action, why do you support taking lots of money from people who work to pay for food, housing, and entertainment for scum of the earth?
It would be one thing if you were going to jail these scum in a small hole and toss them some bread and water on occasion. But these people live in practical luxury. They get meals all the time -- they never miss a meal. They get exercise equipment that others work hard to pay for. They get free access to libraries of information that some people will never see in their lifetimes. And they get continuous access to as much cable television as they can watch. How is this punishment?
Justice demands that these people feel pain. Instead of trying to find a way to kill them that causes less pain, we need to stop wasting time and millions of dollars of money that I worked hard to earn and just put them out of my misery. I really wish the judges would follow the law instead of making up any law they like. Feeling a slight bit of discomfort is NOT cruel and unusual -- raping, torturing, and murdering is.

Go ahead, try and convince me we have freedom anywhere in North Carolina.
Can you see the absolute unmitigated gall of these bastard "public" officials? They told people that if you want to build something on your land, you must pay this cash to the government, or the government would stop you from building. The people who owned the land submitted to this extortion because they wanted to build on their privately-owned land. Then, when it was revealed that it was illegal to extort that money from the private landowners, the government says, "Too bad, we already have the money, and we're not giving it back."
I don't care how you try and sell this one -- it's government gone WAY beyond it's boundaries. $3 million dollars illegally taken from people and the government will not give it back. How can the people of Cary simply sit back and take this crap? An immediate violent overthrow of that government would be well within the boundaries of the Constitution of this country.

During Alex Rodriguez's great season this year, he became the first player in a quarter of a century to have more than 150 runs batted in. But Lou Gehrig had more than 150 RBIs in 7 of his 14 full seasons. That's the record. Even Babe Ruth had only 6.
Gehrig was probably the greatest clutch hitter of all time. Even though more than 20 players hit more home runs during their careers, Gehrig still holds the lifetime record for the most home runs with the bases loaded.
Go read the rest, it's neat.

I'm so happy they've banned these things. Now if only more governments would see this progressive attitude and ban more of them. After all, I'm so offended when I see someone hugging someone else. I'm often late because I have to walk all the way around those people. And they waste so much time. See, students were late for classes because they were hugging and now that it's been banned, no one will be late any more. Isn't that wonderful? If only we had more government banning more things, utopia truly would exist here on earth.

North Korea agreed to provide a "complete and correct declaration" of its nuclear programs and will disable its facilities at its main reactor complex by Dec. 31 under an agreement reached by North Korea and five other countries released Wednesday.
Oh wow, isn't this wonderful? Doesn't this just prove that diplomacy works? Oh, the world can live in peace now, can't it? Details? What details?
...will disable its facilities at its main reactor
In other words, they'll shut down the main one that we know about.
The disablement of the five megawatt experimental reactor at Yongbyon, the reprocessing plant at Yongbyon and the nuclear fuel rod fabrication facility at Yongbyon will be completed
But any other facilities that have been moved underground to avoid satellite detection will NOT be disabled. Any nuclear fuel rods that have already been moved from those above listed facilities will remain in place.
North Korea is required to disable its sole functioning reactor at Yongbyon in exchange for economic aid and political concessions
That should read, "sole KNOWN functioning reactor."
Are there people who actually believe that the lunatic who rules North Korea with an iron fist (not unlike Democrats in North Carolina) would actually surrender all his nuclear material? Are there people who think he really will just hand over his nuclear bombs to America for cash? I don't. Sure, this is a nice start, but I don't trust this fellow as far as I can throw him.

#1: She's female. Yup, that's right, right out of the gate she's playing the sex card. She says that you should vote for her simply because of her gender.
#2: She can spend your money. She highlighted how much money she spent. She measures "progress" in dollars spent over time. Oh, and she can spend money "For The Children."
#3: She will make NC the "best educated" and "healthiest" state in America. Oh sure, it might take billions of dollars of tax increases, but she's okay with you paying lots and lots more in taxes. And no, she's not going to repair roads that Democrats have neglected for decades, instead she's going to take money YOU earn and give it to other people.
#4: She's a leader. And she can lead -- by spending money to give presents to senior citizens. That's her definition of leadership -- taking cash that people earn at gunpoint and bribing senior citizens for their votes.
Don't you want to run out and vote for her right now? This is what you get when you vote Democrat.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
Sorry, but the Supreme Court, kings of the world, have simply decided that they don't like that portion of the US Constitution, so it just doesn't apply any more.
Sure, you're allowed to SAY you're Catholic or Christian. Heck, you can even think you're Catholic or Christian. But according to the Supreme Court, if you attempt to practice either of those religions, you shall be jailed. The state of New York has passed a law that very clearly says that you cannot practice certain aspects of those religions. And the Supreme Court says that those laws are perfectly okay.
I wish the religious groups involved in this case had the guts and tenacity to actually practice their religion in violation of the law. It would indeed be eye-opening to many people in this country when the government showed up to arrest Christians for practicing their religion. Unfortunately, most large-scale religious groups like this just instead bow down to their worldly masters and will obey the law.
This particular case is in regards to being forced to provide and pay for birth control. For example, if I want to practice my religion and NOT use MY money to pay for someone else's birth control, the state of New York says I'm breaking the law. Instead, the state of New York has determined that my right to practice my religion is somehow less important than someone else's new-found "right" to force me to pay for their pills. How screwed up does one have to be to actually argue that? What sort of view of freedom do you have to have in order to actually believe that forcing one person to PAY for the convenience of another is superior to religious freedom?
I just wonder how soon it will be before I am arrested, jailed, or killed right here in America for having Christian religious beliefs. I'm thinking that it won't be long now.

Anti-Christian bias has become the norm in Hollywood and the media in recent years, and now there is evidence of this bigotry growing in the financial services industry, as well. We have learned that our friends at Faith Financial Planners were denied a paid advertisement on the website of Morningstar unless they removed the "Christian" content from their advertisement. Morningstar -- one of the largest providers of financial information on mutual funds, stocks, and portfolios for individual investors and institutions in the world -- told Faith Financial that the company had to "change the message completely and eliminate the Christian undertones." This is a clear example of bigotry just because Faith Financial represents a Christian message about values and investing. Faith Financial is a company that, through one of its subsidiaries, provides information for Christians to use in reflecting their values in their investments. The information alerts values-based investors to those companies that are involved in pornography, abortion, the homosexual agenda, etc. Faith Financial's website is faithfinancialplanners.com. Faith Financial is based in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
In an unprecedented move, after a contract had been signed by both parties, an ad sales agent for Morningstar informed Faith Financial that Morningstar had reversed its decision to accept the ad and decided that Faith Financial must censor the "Christian undertones" in order for the ad to be acceptable. American Family Association is asking you to let the leadership at Morningstar know that this kind of Christian bigotry is unacceptable.
You can send a message to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joe Mansueto.

According to the "New York Times," vice is a virtue - at least when it comes to the stock market.
A Sept. 14, 2007, "New York Times" article titled "At Least on Wall Street, Wages of Sin Beat Those of Virtue" said the Dallas-based Vice Fund, which targets only "sin" stocks such as those involved in gambling, alcohol, and tobacco, has outperformed the S&P 500 over the five years of its existence.
But Rusty Leonard, of Stewardship Partners, believes the "New York Times" got it wrong. His Global Concentrated BRI Equity portfolio did even better than the Vice Fund. Leonard picks stocks for his portfolio after screening out many of the companies that the Vice Fund focuses on. Leonard also eliminates companies involved in pornography, homosexuality, abortion, and other activities Christians consider immoral. It's an increasingly common approach called "Biblically Responsible Investing," or BRI.
"The Vice Fund has done well," Leonard said. "But our Global Concentrated BRI Equity portfolio has done quite a bit better. Our results indicate that there may be no need to sacrifice your heartfelt values, or worse yet, actually embrace sin, in the pursuit of attractive returns."
Specifically, from Sept. 30, 2002, thru Sept. 30, 2007, the Vice Fund rose 160.2 percent. However, Stewardship Partners' Global Concentrated BRI equity portfolio trounced the Vice Fund's returns by rising 226.3 percent over the same time period. Both funds can invest globally using American Depository Receipts.
"For many years, conventional wisdom has held that you had to sacrifice returns if you invested according to your Christian values," Leonard said. "Unfortunately, the New York Times reporter, Janet Morrissey, succumbed to this myth. Not only is it possible to 'do well by doing good,' we believe it is a common-sense method to achieve good performance over the long term. Christians understand and history often confirms that bad behavior has a way of catching up with both people and companies."
In fact, according to the "Times" story, the Vice Fund's management company itself has had its share of ethical troubles. The fund's founder, Richard A. Sapio, was accused of fraud in 2003 and 2004. The cases are still pending. Sapio and other executives associated with the cases have since left Mutual Capital Alliance, which owns the Vice Fund.
"Christians believe that we are not owners, but stewards, of God's resources," Leonard said. "To be the best possible stewards, we diligently work to obtain high returns on the wealth the Lord has entrusted to our care. That's a goal we share with all investors, even those invested in the Vice Fund."
Leonard says that where he differs from the Vice Fund is that he wants "to earn those returns in a manner that honors our Lord and is a blessing to our fellow man. It has been exciting to be able to accomplish both goals in the past, although investors should be aware that there can be no assurance that we will be able to repeat this good performance in the future."
Stewardship Partners is just one organization Leonard has founded to help Christians be good stewards of their money. MinistryWatch.com is a web-site with profiles - including detailed financial statements - of the 500 largest Christian ministries in the country.
"We also hope that the abundance we seek to create for our clients will position them to be wise and effective donors to the Lord's work, as well," Leonard said. "MinistryWatch.com helps educate and empower donors to be the best givers they can be, which is another important part of the stewardship process. We desire not only to bless our fellow man by how we make our money but also by how we give it. Helping our clients experience the joy of giving is even more meaningful to us than providing attractive investment returns."

Trackbacked to Cao's blog and Error Theory.
Pennsylvania Newspapers Pretend There is No Direction to Mecca
In September 2005, a half dozen different bloggers verified that a person facing into what was originally called the Crescent of Embrace memorial to Flight 93 would be facing almost exactly at Mecca. Some surrounding trees have been added to the design, but the giant central crescent remains completely intact in the Bowl of Embrace redesign:
With Tom Burnett Sr. condemning the crescent design and refusing to allow Tom Jr.'s name to be used, there is now a big public controversy in western Pennsylvania over whether the giant crescent really is oriented on Mecca. In response, the Memorial Project has decided to deny that there is any such thing as the direction to Mecca, and Pittsburgh's two major newspapers are both backing up this transparent falsehood.
Professor Daniel Griffith, who is serving as a consultant to the Memorial Project, told the Post Gazette that: "anything can point toward Mecca, because the earth is round." Â…
He made similar statements to the Pittsburg Tribune Review and the Johnstown Tribune Democrat. None of these papers asked for a second opinion from any of the one billion Muslims who face Mecca five times a day for prayer, and it isn't that the media has been duped by Griffith.
Editors and reporters at both the Post Gazette and the Tribune Review are fully aware that a host of bloggers have independently verified the Mecca orientation of the crescent design. It was actually the Tribune Review that first commissioned Professor Griffith to analyze the blogosphere's Mecca-orientation claims. Alec Rawls, who has written a book about the many Islamic and terrorist memorializing features in the crescent design, has a copy of Griffith's report for the Tribune Review posted online. The first thing Griffith does is calculate the direction to Mecca:
I computed an azimuth value from the Flight 93 crater site to Mecca of roughly 55.20°."Azimuth" is the technical term for "direction," measured in degrees clockwise from north. Now Griffith is denying that there is any such thing as the direction to Mecca, and the Tribune Review refuses to tell its readers that Griffith is contradicting the report that he wrote for them.
The Post Gazette is even more outrageous. Rawls was told by Post Gazette reporter Paula Ward that she and her editors saw all the blog posts on the Mecca orientation of the Crescent of Embrace back in September 2005 and decided not to publish this explosive information. (Crescent of Betrayal, download 3, p. 108.) At the same time, the Post Gazette was running editorials that called critics of the crescent paranoid bigots:
But like those who look at innocent kids trick-or-treating at Halloween and see only the devil's work, a few small and suspicious minds couldn't look past the crescent to see a remarkably sensitive design. When Tom Burnet Sr. asked the American people last month to please take his and Mr. Rawls' warnings about the crescent design seriously, the Post Gazette responded with an editorial titled: "Efforts to sully Flight 93 memorial deserve scorn."
What is the significance of a crescent that a person faces into to face Mecca? Such a structure is called a mihrab, and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. That is why the surrounding trees added in the Bowl of Embrace redesign do nothing to alter the Islamic significance of the design. You can plant as many trees around a mosque as you want and it will still be a mosque.
One local paper actually did fact-check the orientation of the giant crescent and validated the Mecca orientation claim in print, but the larger papers are all refusing to pass this fact checking on, or to do their own, even though it is simple one-two operation. All that Tribune Democrat reporter Kirk Swauger had to do was use the Mecca direction calculator at Islam.com to print out a graphic of the direction to Mecca from Somerset PA, then place this print out over the Crescent of Embrace site-plan PDF on his computer screen:
The green circle, marked with the qibla direction (the direction to Mecca), is from Islam.com. Graphic shows that a person standing at the midpoint between the most obtruding tips of the crescent structure and facing into the center of the crescent (red arrow), will be facing almost exactly at Mecca. (Hat tip Sarah Wells.)
As Swauger put it in his news article:
[Rawls'] claims seem to be backed up by coordinates for the direction of qibla from Somerset that can be found on Islam.com. When superimposed over the crescent in the memorial design, the midpoint points over the Arctic Circle, through Europe toward Mecca.Having suppressed this information for two years, Pittsburgh's major newspapers are desperate to keep it suppressed now, or they will be ruined. Thus they find themselves camped out on the very spot that the blogosphere ranged with its artillery two years ago. They know full well that the Mecca-orientation of the crescent has been verified numerous times and are counting on their control of public information to keep this knowledge from getting out to the general public.
The challenge to bloggers could not be more overt. Can the blogosphere retrieve its earlier fact checking from the memory hole and bust these news frauds? Easy and permanent access to existing fact checking is the blogosphere's natural advantage, but we still have to take advantage of it.
This information was also mentioned at Newsbusters here on September 27, 2007.
-----------
If you want to join us outraged protesting bloggers
- in objecting to planting an Islamic symbol instead of an American one on the crash site,
- in objecting to its pointing to Mecca and the terrorists' intended target,
- in objecting to dishonoring the memory of the people who fought the terrorists on Flight 93
- in pointing out how Paul Murdoch cleverly and symbolically cast the passenger and crew out of the Islamic heavens in the design while the terrorists are inside the Islamic heavens
- in pointing out how the date and the site are dedicated to the terrorists
- in pointing out the numerous redundant mosque design features
- in pointing out the terrorist memorializing features
- and post along with us on Wednesdays,
Let's roll.
Stop the Memorial Blogburst
--------------------------------
Riddle me this
What was Paul Murdoch, the design's architect, thinking? What was his ulterior motive? When controversy over the original name "Crescent of Embrace" and the bald Islamic symbol planted on the crash site brought a public outcry, the entire memorial was hastily re-titled "40 Memorial Groves."
As Alec is apt to do, he's having some fun with this: So why only 38 Memorial Groves?
His answer should appear today at Error Theory, go check it out!

They created new forms for "end of life choices." Yes, more paperwork for doctors and medical staff that you can sign. No, you don't have to read them, just sign them. But hey, it's "more comprehensive," so that means it's good, right? And if the medical staff doesn't fill out these forms, they'll get in trouble. Isn't it good to have more paperwork when you're lying in a sick bed?
North Carolina also has new laws interfering with freedom of medical choice. The North Carolina government doesn't want you to be free to choose any insurance provider you want. In addition, they don't want any insurance company to be able to offer whatever coverage they want. Instead, the state will not only determine what insurance you may purchase, but how much the insurance companies will charge for that insurance. They just made a micro-managed change to the amount the state will "permit" insurance companies to charge for chiropractors. Freedom? NC Democrats never heard of it.
And to stop all those billions of people getting killed by renegade laser hair-removal procedures, the state's going to require you to get their permission before you actually use one of those. Because after all, I'm sure you've read of all the reports of injuries and deaths from renegade laser remove technicians, right? Democrats cannot STAND for anyone in North Carolina to do ANYTHING without asking their permission. Freedom will simply NOT be permitted in North Carolina.
Finally, to really prove that the Democrats are on the job, they've made it a crime to drop Oreo cookies in certain specified locations. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not. If you drop any "processed food" in a state-protected location, you're going to jail. Don't you feel safer?
North Carolina Democrats: destroying freedom anywhere they see it. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

After four weeks of football, only the New Orleans Saints and the Saint Louis Rams are still left in the running. With the Miami defense giving up THIRTY points a game (second only to Detroit by 0.5 points), this could really be the year. Will they go an entire year without winning a single game? Well, they do have to play Cleveland, Buffalo, Houston, the Giants, Baltimore, AND Cincinnati. Surely they'll win a couple... well that's my prediction, based on their performance so far: 3-13 -- worse than the 2004 year of 4-12.
I'm still rooting for them -- they can get that draft pick if they try real hard!
