So, have you heard the latest news about America and it's "mighty military?" Fox News had a very brief blurb about it, Euphoric Reality had a bit more, and Cathouse Chat is outraged. If you're not sure what this is about, refer to the picture here in this post.Now I'm sure some of you good readers will interpret this to mean that I don't like the military or that I'm insulting the military or something like that. I'm sorry, but if you think that, you're rather uninformed. This is not a reflection on any member of the military, but on the people who give the orders to those in the military uniform.
Is there any reason to even give our soldiers guns today? After all, the policy at the southern border of this country is to run from anyone else who might be armed. So why do we even HAVE a border patrol or national guard on the border? It's certainly NOT to actually secure the border. After all, if you are a member of the border patrol and actually shoot back when drug smugglers try to KILL you, you get thrown in jail!
So now we have some "unknown" number of armed thugs entering this country from a foreign country and confronting our armed military members. Our response? Run away and hide. Apparently we have become the French.
If we had a leader with any guts at ALL, he order the full-time US Military to the southern border to protect our country from a current, active invasion. And if ANYONE entered the country armed and shooting, we'd have order to kill and destroy every single one of them. But to do that, we'd have to have at least a little interest in national sovereignty -- which our leaders clearly do not have.
America, as a country, does not exist to our leaders. The only hope for America today is it's citizens. I hope you're armed and have a lot of ammo because the leaders of the US Military aren't interested in protecting you against any enemies, foreign or domestic.

Year 2006: From despotism to democracy
In the article, they talk about the slow movement from a royal dictatorship to a historic democratic upheaval. They mention how the insurgency has been ended and that a peaceful Democracy with people in charge is working now. They mention how unity between SEVEN political parties brought Democracy to the country.
During the same period, if one looks at North Carolina, you can see the opposite happening. Nearly every day, here on this blog, you can read news about how freedom is disappearing in North Carolina. Every day you can see how the Democrats who control the North Carolina Legislature (due only to gerrymandering) continue to move further and further away from Democracy. Heck, there's almost no reason to vote any more in North Carolina because the vast, vast majority of Legislative seats are already decided by the legislators themselves, rather than the people.
Yes, once upon a time, Virginia, The People of North Carolina were allowed to pick their representatives in Raleigh. But today the legislators select the people they will represent. You see, we're just not smart enough to pick the "right" people, so the Democrats will select our representatives for us.
So Nepal, congratulations on the advances towards Democracy in your country! I'm happy that you have SEVEN different political parties from which to select. But I'll leave you with those famous words of Benjamin Franklin which we have absolutely failed to heed:
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”

There is it. The photograph that's got Muslims around the world celebrating and rejoicing. You see, they see this as a tremendous victory for Muslims and terrorists -- they now have a Muslim in a seat of power in America, the great Satan.Much has been written by others explaining why Mr. Ellison should not have used the queer-an in his swearing in ceremony (and yes, I'm well aware of the differences between the actual ceremony and the photo-op); so I'll not go into details on that one. Instead, I'd like to talk about the Muslim terrorist viewpoint on this photo.
First, for those who are unaware of it, there's a saying in the Muslim religion called "Al-Takeyya" (various spellings). It allows, in fact even requires, a Muslim to lie, if it's to advance the Muslim religion. And Mr. Ellison is a Muslim. Therefore, his oaths are only good for the Muslims, and not for America. Now I'm not saying he's not planning on upholding his oath to "protect and defend the Constitution," I'm just saying that ANY Muslim who makes that oath is absolutely free and clear to violate the oath. In other words, ANY oath taken by ANY Muslim is absolutely and completely worthless -- they are obligated by their religion to violate that oath to advance their religion.
Therefore, Muslim terrorists around the world see this photograph and they don't see a traitor. They do not see an American. They do not see someone who will uphold and defend the Constitution. Instead, they see a Muslim. They see someone who will help them advance their cause. They see someone who will do all he can to make America a Muslim country.
Once again, just to be clear, I'm not calling Mr. Ellison a traitor or a terrorist. I'm just telling you the viewpoint of the Muslim terrorist from around the world.
So, what should be done? If Mr. Ellison were not in league with the Muslim terrorists, he's got a great platform to use. He should daily be denouncing Muslims who are terrorists. He should daily be explaining he is not interested in advancing his religion with his post. At every news conference, he should be explaining that he is a different Muslim, NOT one who follows the queer-an as the terrorist Muslims do.
However, even that will fall short, because he is expected to lie. That's what the queer-an tells him to do. If he is truly a Muslim and follows the Muslim holy book, he will lie at will in his attempts to turn America into a Muslim nation.
And that's why terrorist Muslims around the world are celebrating and will salute this picture for a long time.

And where is that money going to come from? Rumors have it that the state will raise the sales tax rate across the state so they can give a few dollars to people who don't work. I mean that's fair, right? Make everyone pay more (including those who will actually receive the cash) so the state can pay people to not work?
In the liberal world, my viewpoint is considered "heartless." In the real world, it's considered freedom. In case you don't understand, the ONLY way government gets money is to take it from someone else who produces it. Government produces NOTHING, ever. So they are honestly planning on rewarding people for not working by punishing those who do. What sort of reality-based system is that? It's called communism -- where everyone works for a common middle ground.
That's a horrible way to run a government. In a freedom-based society, people would be free to keep what they earn. Then those same people would be free to help anyone they wanted to. That's how government ran for a hundred years or more in America, and it worked just fine. But that's now how government works now. Instead, people are not free to help others because they have to first meet the heavy burden of massive government taxation or go to jail. And those who choose to sit on their rear ends all day? Well that's just fine with government, because government will give them money, food, housing, education, and well, anything else they need. What incentive do people actually have to work? NONE from government, that's for sure.
Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

Once, long ago, when the ogre was, well, a smaller ogre, he had a different view on life. At the time, I was neither Republican nor Democrat, not really having a concern with politics. I still had strong views on different things. I remember the Iran hostage crisis, and I remember thinking, "Well gee, morons, what are you doing in the middle east in the first place?" I remember thinking that those people got what they deserved for being over there -- much the same point of view that this commenter has.
Since then, however, I've grown up.
These people were taken hostage for one reason, and one reason only -- because they're Americans. There are plenty of other people in the country -- many of the natives -- that could have been taken hostage. But they were not. There are many others of other nationalities that could have been taken hostage -- but the scum Islamic terrorists took the Americans. Why?
Because they're Americans. That's all.
These people hate Americans. No, not because we attacked Iraq, they have hated us for a lot longer than that. As much as the left does not understand, these people hate us because we're not Muslim. That really is the bottom line. They honestly and seriously want to convert the entire world to Muslim. That's their open stated goal, no matter what the media and the left want to believe.
So why should we care about Americans who get taken hostage?
Well, if you're on the left, you don't have to care. You see, that's the new religion to the left -- everyone for themselves. And that's one of the things that Muslims hate -- the utter self-indulgence of those in America. Yes, the left, with their current hate America attitude is actually fueling the fires of the terrorist Muslims.
On the other hand, America is supposed to be the world leader. I know the left does not like this. The currently view of the left is that America should not be thought of as better than any other country -- instead, everyone, everything, and every culture should be absolutely and totally equal. That's not how it is, however. America IS better. America IS superior. And if you don't like that, you're welcome to leave America and find somewhere else that you like better. I don't see any Democrats leaving.
So if America is superior, we should go in and get the hostages. No, we should never give in to the terrorists. Instead, we should destroy them. Many polls today and recently show that Americans are unhappy with Bush's strategy on Iraq. The press spins this to mean that Bush should cut and run -- the Democrat strategy. What the polls don't show is what percent of those who are unhappy with Bush's strategy that want him to do MORE, not less.
The only way Muslims terrorists will be stopped is with brutal firepower. The only way to stop them is to eliminate state-sponsored religion. And the only way to do that is to start killing a lot of people.
No, I don't want people to die. But if we do nothing, or if we retreat, people WILL continue to die. That's a fact. If we retreat from Iraq, the Muslim terrorists are not suddenly going to stop killing Americans. Maybe you didn't realize that we had not invaded Iraq when 9-11 happened. The only way to stop the state-sponsored religion is to start bombing countries until they stop. Does this mean that every state that has a state-sponsored religion should be on America's target list? You bet.
No, it doesn't mean that we have to invade every country -- once a few give in, the rest will see that America means business -- and that the American way, with freedom of religion, really IS superior -- even if the Democrats don't like it.

Each year the American Civil Liberties Union and other liberal organizations continue their efforts to destroy traditional values that we once assumed were self-evident and beyond question. And each year we sit quietly by doing nothing to stop their relentless assault on our culture and our religious heritage. As our resolution for the New Year, let us join together to defeat the ACLU's anti-Christian agenda and restore our civil and religious freedom.
Most definitely the ACLU's attack on religious freedom is one of many good reasons we should resolve to join together and fight back. We have a whole list of other good reasons. The damage the ACLU has done to our National Security, the War on Terror, and our National Soverignty are at the top of my personal list.
There are many reasons to stop the ACLU's agenda, but what people need to know is how. Everyone needs to get involved. There is a lot that can be done.
One thing to do is to get active. Email, write, or call your elected officials and let them know that National Security is of primary concern. This time last year the ACLU were running full page ad propaganda war against the NSA and the Patriot Act. Even though the Democrats made a show of not clapping for the Patriot Act, in the end they lost that battle. They are still beating the dead horse over the NSA program.
Another thing is to elect people who will appoint Constitutionalist judges. We've made progress in this area over the past year. Last year around this time the ACLU announced their official opposition to the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Many of the ACLU's biggest fans in the Senate fought hard to paint him as a woman hater and bigot, to the point of bringing his wife to tears, but in the end they all lost that battle.
When it comes to religious freedom, the ACLU is America's number one censor. They have compared Christians to terrorists, and even called for jailing people over prayer. The most outrageous thing about this is that when these cases their attorney's fees are paid for by the taxpayer. We have made progress against this in the past year. Currently there is legislation to put a stop to this and we got it passed in the House of Representatives. The bill is still pending before the Senate, and just because we lost the majority is no reason for us to let up.
Support groups that are fighting the ACLU. There are many out there including the Alliance Defense Fund, ACLJ, Liberty Council, and Thomas More Law Center. Join one of them, donate to them, and tell others about them.
Educate the public about the ACLU's agenda. This last one is the New Year's resolution we are making...to continue our fight against the ACLU by educating the public. Join us and over 200 other blogs in helping to expose the ACLU's agenda to the people.

In North Carolina now, the punitive wage, I mean, minimum wage, was raised by one dollar. Why? So that the government could ensure that everyone has more money. So how much richer are you? What's that you say? You don't earn the minimum wage, so you don't get an increase? That's not what the liberal Democrats who run the North Carolina government say.
In reality (somewhere the liberal Democrats have never been), this "wage increase" will cost you money -- no matter if you make the minimum wage or not. You see, now that small businesses are forced by government to hand out more money for absolutely nothing, they will have to charge more for their products and services. Why? Simple economics. If it costs more to produce something, they have to charge more to make it.
Oh, and those few people who are making minimum wage just got taught a valuable lesson: they can get more money for doing absolutely NOTHING if they just rely on government. Of course, that's the lesson that the socialists who claim to be Democrats in the North Carolina legislature want them to get -- these people honestly WANT peons to be dependent on government. It's a good thing that there's still enough suckers people who are willing to work for a living to support themselves AND all the other bottom-feeders that rely on government.
I could go on and on, but the arguments are the same. Why stop there? Why not make a minimum wage of $100,000 a year? Simple, there is no logical reason. Any argument against a minimum of $100K could be used against $6.15. Folks, why in the world, if I want to sell my labor and services for $2 an hour, should government stop me? In a free society, they wouldn't. North Carolina is not a free society.

What's the issue? Well, being MA, it's either taxes or gays. This time it's gays.
You see, the vote was basically ordered by the MA Supreme Court. The Court pretty much told the legislature that they had to vote. I'm rather surprised this time that the Court didn't also tell them the way to vote, since the MA Supreme Court apparently has to power to make laws, enforce laws, and interpret laws (well, they do, whether they have the power to or not).
In this case over 170,000 people in the fiefdom state of MA had sent a petition to the government, asking them to change the Constitution. The governor elect didn't like that. The governor-elect thought that he was the only one with power in the state. He was really annoyed that the peons people might actually have some say in the laws. So he tried to stop the vote.
What WAS the vote? Oh, the vote was to allow the people to vote on a Constitutional Amendment. Yes, the person that the moron people of MA just elected to be their chief executive was angry that the serfs people might change the laws of the state. The governor-elect is mad that the people of the state of MA might actually have SOME say in their government! That's why he's mad -- not because of the content of the law, but because he doesn't want to allow any power to be anywhere but in him and other politicians.
And you wonder why it's referred to as the Socialist State.
** Update: Thanks to Raven -- she points out that the Boston Globe, paper of the socialist party, is just as furious. They're actually complaining that the people want to change the Constitution. They even go so far as to claim that the people have absolutely NO RIGHT to be able to change the laws under which they live. Seriously.
The even go further, saying
the new Legislature ... must consider whether this is an appropriate issue to put to the voters
In other words, the people are too stupid to govern themselves. That's a really horrible stance to take in a state that was once a bastion of freedom (well, over 200 years ago). The Boston Globe has now openly declared that a representative republic is bad and they only support total socialism.
Oh, how I yearn for freedom!

First, they're making progress in punishing people who work elsewhere in the state. They're celebrating that $27 million extra dollars from people outside their county will flow into their county so they can give it to people who do not work. Of course, $27 million isn't enough, and they're hoping the counties of NC can work together to force other counties to give them even more. The more they punish those who work so they can give money to those who don't, the happier they are.
Next, they're happy to have started construction on a new water district, despite not having enough money to actually build it, or even enough customers to actually USE the system. But they're happy because they're spending money. And they're sure some more people will sign up to use the new water district. And if the people don't, they'll just pass some laws and force people to use it -- they'll just claim some crap about safety and cram it down everyone's throat.
They're also considering taking away any freedom of choice for emergency services and are considering raising taxes more to force everyone to use a county-wide system, whether they want it or not. They're afraid that there might be someone who is more than 10 seconds away from a fire station, so they might need to force everyone to use a county system, no matter what anyone wants.
They're also making plans to bribe at least one more business to come to the county at the expense of the taxpayers. They're trying to decide how much money to take now from people who work and produce to give to a private business that has done absolutely nothing to actually earn, well, anything.
So in Edgecombe County for last year, the score is socialism 4, freedom 0.

Oh, and that's in addition to the millions of dollars that they gave Google this summer in the form of free sales taxes. Yes, you lowly peons have to pay a sales tax on everything you buy and will likely have to pay a higher sales tax rate this year, but if you're a fancy company that the North Carolina legislature happens to like, well, you just don't have to pay any taxes at all. It's called "Screw the Worker and Reward the Business" -- a Democrat staple here in North Carolina.
Now for those of you who were sucked in by the claims that the company will "generate millions" in revenue, I ask you what they would do if they were NOT given the millions of dollars in taxpayer money? Would they relocate elsewhere? Or might they just go ahead and build the expansion anyway? Right now, they are clearly and obviously playing one government against another to see who will give them the most cash. However, as with any bidding war, as soon as one person stops, everyone stops.
So North Carolina, how about taking the lead in the country. How about making a bold, strong, very pro-business and pro-freedom move? How about telling businesses that we would love to have you here, but we're not bribing you? Instead we could maintain low taxes and freedom for everyone, businesses and people, and businesses and people would flock to North Carolina -- without a single dollar of bribe money.
However, as long as the Democrats are in control in the General Assembly, that's simply not going to happen. The Democrats honestly HATE freedom because it removes power and control from themselves. Remember this $4.7+ million bribe when in less than a month the Democrats complain about "needing" to raise taxes "for the children." They will be lying yet again.

Ogre says: Note the result in the first case: Billy grows up normal. Spankings do not destroy a child, no matter what Dr. Spock or other liberal whiny-pants people say. Social services is the most worthless and destructive government agency in existence, second even to the scum that is the IRS.

Ogre says: Either that or Mary gets special treatment for all her classes, extra federal funds, extra time, free excuses for anything and then expects special treatments and free money, housing, and food from the state for life.

2006: Pedro's cause is taken up by state democratic party. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he can't speak English.
Ogre says: And if there were justice, if Pedro were an illegal alien, he'd be deported or jailed. And in the 50s, Pedro would learn English and assimilate. But today he will expect everyone else to speak his language, whatever that happens to be, and the government will punish anyone who does not.

2006 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.
Ogre says: Hey look, it's that big, nanny-state government again. You know, if government were shrunk by, oh, 90%, they wouldn't have enough money to investigate Johnny and his firecrackers. And yes, that would be a good thing.

Ogre says: Wrong ending. Because she is female, she can have sex with Johnny and not be punished. But if she doesn't, she will be charged with assault, the school district will be sued, and the taxpayers will have to pay millions to Johnny's lawsuit-happy mom.
And you know what? Every single one of these examples illustrates a total loss of freedom in America. Every one. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

State Sen. Charles Albertson, D-Duplin said, "We donÂ’t need to be charging license fees to people on food stamps who are fishing; however, we do need to screw those who are productive and take as much as we can away from those sorry bastards who are actually working and earning a living." Well, he didn't actually say the part after the "however," but he might as well have because that IS what they are doing.
Folks, this is your Democrat Party of today, whether you want to admit it or not. Their primary goal in life is to punish those who work and are productive and reward those who do not work. That's wrong no matter what you want to call it.
For those who still don't get it: government is utterly and totally incapable of being "generous" or "compassionate." Government has ZERO dollars. ANY dollar they give away is money that they had to take away from someone who earned it. That's not compassion, that's theft. The only reason it's not called theft is because those who are doing it are the ones who determine who gets punished for stealing.
If you hate the money you earn, vote Democrat and stop working. You will be taken care of by the Democrats in North Carolina because they will stop at nothing to take from producers and give to the lazy.
