Come Meet Ogre
Well, you probably haven't wanted to meet the Ogre. I mean, think about that one logically. But hey, if you are one of the two or three people who wants to actually meet and talk with the Ogre in person, you've got two chances coming up soon.
The first is April 27-28 at the NC Conservative Leadership Conference. If you can be there, you will have a good time, even if you do find Ogre. And I'll be relatively easy to spot -- I'll be bogged down with a camera and a laptop most of the time. If you see someone set up with a tripod and typing away furiously, that will be me. And the nametag that says, "Ogre" will sort of be a giveaway. And if you can't be there, be sure and check here, because I'll be liveblogging everwhere I go. It will be a blast!
The next will be the very next weekend at Minis on the Dragon. If you don't have a Mini, I probably won't see you there. And I doubt I'll be liveblogging, but I'll take lots of pictures for posting the next week!

LOVE the ocean. I've seriously looked at buying a home in Bah Hahbah! And I usually make it near Cape Cod once a year -- through MA on my way to NH and ME each summer. I'll be sure and let you know should I head that way this year!

April 1: Enemies of America Rally
A large group the United Coalition of Enemies Against America
will gather in front of Dallas City hall. If you're an American, please do attend this rally and watch and record what goes on here. It would be quite interesting to see how these enemies of America work together to attempt to destroy this country.
Oh, and the enemies are gathering "to support illegal immigration" and to "register voters." I would really love to be there to observe exactly who is signed up to register to vote and how they're encourage to sign the voter registrations.
Which enemies of America will be there this time? The Dallas Peace Center. I don't know that group personally, but likely they're like the other "peace" groups -- dedicated to the total destruction of America in every possible way. They cry "peace," but they mean "total socialism without any country having any borders, citizens, or personal ownership of anything." They despise everything American.
CAIR will be there, one of the biggest enemies of America. I find it very interesting that this group with known ties to terrorism is working with others to attempt to destroy what used to be the southern border to this country. Their presence alone should help people realize that the border enforcement is not just about stopping illegal alien invaders, it's about stopping terrorists. CAIR doesn't like it when you stop them from allowing any terrorist over the border.
And no meeting of American enemies would be complete without the ACLU. Of course, they're protesting that America has any borders, because they believe that everyone should have anything they want as long as no one owns anything ever. Don't forget, the ideals of the ACLU and everything they do is based on attaining one goal: communism in America.
So if you can drop by Dallas City hall on April 1 (not likely, because most productive Americans will have to work and produce to support the lazy bastards who will be protesting), please stop by, take some pictures, and observe.

Well, of course, that means

this right here is why I'm not King of England. If I were, as soon as word came in that Iran had taken some of my soldiers away, capturing them in international waters, I'd consider that a declaration of war. I'd IMMEDIATELY scramble a pile of fighters and bombers. I'd bomb the crap out of the capital (or wherever intelligence put Madman I'm-A-Dinner-Jacket) for a couple hours. THEN I'd send in the "Foreign Office" people. They'd go with a message like this one:
How many more bombs do you want me to drop before you will release my people?
Any response other than "Here are your people, we're sorry" would be met with another few hours of carpet bombing various cities and key economic facilities.
But, you see, today we engage in politically correct confrontations. We are not allowed to kill individuals. We're not allowed to kill alleged civilians. But you know what? That would get results, and it would get them damn fast. No, I wouldn't like to have to kill civilians, but as long as they leave this madman in power, yes, they can be held responsible for him. And yes, he and his country should be bombed right now.
And know what? Yes, our civilization IS superior to theirs. I know the Democrats think we're all equal, but America doesn't go out on the high seas to commit piracy and kidnap citizens of other countries. This time it's worse than the usual terrorists -- we've got a target, we've got a country that has committed an open act of war. Why haven't they been attacked?
Furthermore, how did these guys get caught? I think if I were on a ship near Iran and an Iranian boat came to "inspect" my ship, I'd let them inspect the barrels of some guns up close. But oh, we couldn't do that, because it would be an "international incident" -- yet when the Iranians commit piracy and kidnapping, it's somehow not.
Someone grow some guts, would you, and put these slimy, evil bastards in their place. Drop some damn bombs on this bastard before he kills some more.

I absolutely do not understand why this hasn't been done. Iran openly entered foreign territory and kidnapped citizens of another country. How in the world is this NOT an act of war? The Iranians have to be absolutely laughing at the utter impotency of the British. They have already won.

Stop the Train Mecklenburg
There is a large group of people in Mecklenburg County who are working together to attempt to
repeal the sales tax and stop the horribly overpriced money pit that is "light rail." I've seen the site, and I've pointed it out to people. This irresponsible mismangement of money is one of the reasons I moved OUT of Mecklenburg county (and have urged all productive people to do so as well).
Yesterday, I happened upon a web posting that opposes this effort. Now, I have nothing against people working together to accomplish goals in government -- that's Democracy in action. However, this post by "metro.m" is nothing but pure lies. It really says a lot about someone when they can only oppose your ideas with lies. The post says
This is a petition to eliminate the transit sales tax which funds the buses, express buses, light rail, and commuter rail. Last year this system carried 25 million people.
Lies. Complete and total lies. Absolutely nothing about that statement is true. This so-called "transit tax" was put in place for one, single reason: to build light rail. NONE of the money collected from this tax, as it was passed, was authorized for use on ANY other systems. It is ONLY for the train.
This tax is very important to Charlotte/Mecklenburg's future in that we need more transit options than just the automobile. The people behind this petition apparently don't believe in the benefits of mass transit. They would rather have more roads, more traffic congestion, and more pollution.
More lies. Charlotte has NO "need" of "more transit options." This tax is for ONE thing -- making a light rail train that no one will use. It will cost more to run than it will earn -- it will be an endless, perpetual cost to the city. In addition, there is simply no truth to the idea that adding a train will reduce traffic or pollution AT ALL. Even the uptown supporters of the train have finally realized that and stop claiming it -- it just is not true at all.
A repeal of this tax will cause taxes to rise, not fall, because the city/county will be forced to raise property taxes to cover existing commitments being covered by the transit tax.
Local taxes will also rise because more roads will be needed if the transit system isn't supported and there isn't money from the federal government and state to cover the loss.
Lies again. The tax is for the train. If the tax is repealed, that's a clear message that the voters don't want a train. Therefore, if the government builds a train, they will raise taxes -- TO PAY FOR THE NEW TRAIN THAT NO ONE WANTS.
A repeal of the tax will also cause Charlotte/Mecklenburg to lose billions of dollars in federal and state money which otherwise will go to other cities that are building transit systems.
Billions? Try again. The last time Charlotte asked for more money for the train from the federal government, the feds weren't interested. They've already given all they want to give.
The backers of this petition won't be happy until they make Charlotte want another Detroit. Is that what we want? All cars and no other options? All desirable cities in this world have rail transit.
Incredibly backwards. Detriot stinks BECAUSE of "urban planning" that destroys freedom and property rights -- as the light rail scam does. Detroit has high taxes -- and forcing this train system upon the people of Charlotte WILL cause taxes to go up because someone's going to have to pay to operate this system!
UrbanPlanet recommends that you don't sign this petition and that you inform others not to do so as well.
Because you're afraid of the truth.
You see, the petition doesn't even do ANYTHING! It's a petition TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO VOTE on the transit tax. The petition doesn't remove the tax, it simply allows the people who are citizens (and plenty of non-citizens, this is NC) to vote to decide whether they WANT a damn train.
What these people, and others, are afraid of is that people will actually say, "You know what? I don't want to pay hundreds of billions of dollars for a train that won't do any good or help anyone do anything." Go check out Stop the Train if you want the facts. Of course, if you're a liberal, you don't want facts, so just continue your whining and complaining and trying to destroy all that is good.

New Advertisers
Both these advertisers deserve your attention, so please do visit them at least once this week!
First up is Nick Queen, advertising in the Rented Blog spot at the top left corner of the page. I thought Nick had gone the way of the Dodo bird, but apparently he's like most species, and had only ceased to exist for awhile, then came back to life! I used to visit there regularly, and advertising can only mean he's back and ready to go! Take a peek.

continues his work to destroy freedom and kill people in Venezuela. Now keep in mind, this fellow is a hero to today's Democrat party. Many Democrats in power today would absolutely LOVE to be able to do what Chavez is doing -- and they will if they are given a chance to.
Chavez says he respects the private property he is taking away from citizens. He is making property "community" property to benefit the poor. In true socialist fashion, he says:

Well, it only belongs to those who have the monopoly on force (that's government), and this move only benefits those who are lazy and don't actually have any land. It will severely punish anyone who works and maintains their own land.
Remember, every single time throughout all of human history, ever time that socialsm is tried, it is a complete and total failure. The only thing socialism brings is death and misery to the masses. And this is what the Democrats in America honestly want. And what a shock -- what are the preliminary results of this redistribution of property? Increasing shortages and more expensive products.
Socialism is failing yet again. And the Democrats still love it.

Fight the Home Tax
The Democrat-led North Carolina General Assembly is working hard to get more money from you. One of their current efforts is to put a tax on moving -- yes, any time you decide that you want to move, they want you to pay a rather large tax -- typically in the thousands of dollars. Of course, they won't dare call it a "moving tax" -- that would be too honest. They call it a "land transfer tax" -- hoping that most people won't understand what that means.
Well, some people are finally organizing against this. The NC Association of Realtors has started Stop the NC Home Tax (and note the domain name: it's a bad idea). They view it on a tax on your equity. I think they're just a little short on that concept -- you see, you don't even have to HAVE any equity for the Democrats to tax you! If you have ZERO equity on the house, you STILL pay the entire tax. And that will have a side effect that the Democrats LOVE -- it will make it more difficult for you to move.
Taking away freedom of movement -- just another service of the North Carolina Democrat.
So head on over and visit and help them out -- if you think you should be able to keep the money you earn.

We've been fighting this for some time now. Glad they finally joined the fight. OUr Chatham County Commissioner Mike Cross seems a tad upset that the state now wants to keep the money. Gee, Who would have suspected there were OTHER greedy politicians around?
We have a smaple letter up for people to use to contact their representatives. This must be stopped. Think about the fact that you pay for your property with money that has already been subjected to the income tax, then you pay property taxes the whole time you live there, then, when you sell it, they want you to pay a sales tax on it. (And late when you die, they want a piece of that money again.)

And since they honestly believe the ends always justify the means, they have no problem completely lying about all taxes and tax increases.
I'll never forget a "debate" I had with a Democrat when I ran for office. I claimed he raised taxes 39 times and had the votes and bills in my hand to prove that he did. He absolutely and completely denied that he ever voted to raise taxes!

I have to admit, there are many days I have tried to figure out how today's liberal think. I honestly try and figure out why it is that they do what they do. I know they're wrong. I know their ideas are wrong. I know the things they do will lead to worse people and a lesser nation. But I've never really been able to figure out exactly WHY they do what they do.
This fellow really explains it well. The YouTube video is almost 48 minutes long, but it's incredible. It's accurate. And it really explains what we're up against. It explains why it's so difficult to fight the liberals. And it really shows why they're doing what they're doing. If you want to understand liberals, find an hour and go watch this.

Whew, that video is quite the time investment, but it is a good speech. The man is thoughtful and kind to his liberal sister and honest about his own liberalism. (At the age of four)
Liberalism has different levels, in my view. There are the knee-jerk sheep who go where their masters drive them, who cannot think, but can bleat as loud as anyone (four legs good, two legs BETTER.)
But their leadership is smart. The question I disagree on is why they come to the conclusions they do. I suspect evil intention, such as control and power and destruction. The speaker was unwilling to accept that possibility and searched vainly, in my opinion, for an alternative.

It depends on your worldview.
If you view the world as today's society wants you to, then you believe that all people are, deep inside good. Liberals especially believe this. If you accept that point of view, then they come to their conclusions because, as the speaker mentioned, they blame all evil in the world on actions of everyone else. To stop that, they conclude the only way is to stop whatever we've done throughout history -- so oppose everything good because that is what results in bad. It's twisted, but by it's very nature has to be non-logical.
On the other hand, if you accept the Christian worldview, you know that deep down all men ARE evil. They come to their conclusions for reasons such as power and control and because they simply are evil.

It's always someone elses fault, particularly the Jews and America.
It is OK to abort a baby, but bad to execute a murderer. Punishment is bad, therapy good.

Racists Ask for Cash
Some racists in Wilmington, NC, have
written an editorial asking people to give them money so they can advance their agenda of racism with the force of North Carolina government.
How can I call them racist? Because they judge people primarily by the color of their skin. Under the name of the paper it says, "Part of the Black Press USA Network." So they have a network that decides who will write for them and become members based on the color of their skin. That's racism. They're open racists.
Next, the editorial asks for money to advance their causes and explains some of those causes that were brought to the General Assembly recently -- like reparations so that people who never owned slaves are required to pay people who were never slaves cash -- but if you have the right color skin, you get cash.
Another agenda item they praise is attempting to crush businesses and capitalism by raising the government-mandated minimum wage as much as 400%. They want to take more taxpayer money and give it to educate kids -- well, only if the kids have dark skin, of course.
The only thing that was really accurate in that editorial is that racism is alive and well. Unfortunately, it appears most of today's racism comes from those who have dark skin.

Taxpayer Cash: Free Distributions
Your taxpayer cash
is being used to settle a lawsuit -- which you had nothing to do with. Did you learn your lesson? You're being punished. Do you promise not to do it again?
I think we need to pass a law that limits lawsuits against governments. It doesn't make one bit of sense. In this case, 3 students have been awarded a pile of cash for the actions of a school. And it's punitive damages (even though it's a "settlement") -- in other words, the cash is being transferred from one party to another as punishment and an attempt to teach the people who did wrong a lesson. The only problem is that the people who are paying the money aren't paying their own money!
The school board honestly doesn't care one bit about this lawsuit. They're not paying one dime out of their pocket. Sure, they might complain a little bit, but they really don't mind. After all, if they don't have enough money, they'll just take some more from the taxpayer! There's no possible way they can learn a lesson from this punishment. It's just downright dumb.
A new law should be passed that says government is immune from fines. They should not ever be forced to pay out any cash other than ACTUAL damages -- because it's not their damn money. PEOPLE are being punished when actions like this take place. WORKING people have to pay that money, not the members of the government.
Of course, if a law like this ever went into effect, the ACLU's budget would drop by about 90% because their primary source of income is filing lawsuits against government.

Feds Strong-Arm NC. Again
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a country that was founded on individual freedom and rights. It was a loose collection of self-governing states that were united for their common defense. It was called the United States of America. That place no longer exists today.
Instead, we have a strong federal, centralized government. We have no local control. We have state government that simply exist to do the bidding of the all-powerful central government. That's why presidential and congressional elections have become more important -- they now run the entire country, unlike the system of government set out in the Constitution.
Yet again, this all-powerful centralized government has used it's ultimate power and authority (and your cash) to bribe a state into doing what the federal government wants.
Now, if I were to go up to a legislator and offer him $50,000 to pass a law for me, that would be blatantly illegal. I would go to jail and so would the legislator who received the bribe. I don't know anyone who would question that. However, for some reason, when some unelected federal government employees do EXACTLY that, no crime has been committed. I wonder what other crimes you get to commit for free if you're a member of the all-powerful federal government?
It's very clear what was done. It fits the very definition of bribery of a government official. I don't understand why the federal regulators aren't immediately arrested and jailed. Here's how it works: the federal regulator told the General Assembly that he would give the state one million dollars if they passed a law. The General Assembly passed the law, and the state gets the money. Someone please explain to me why they're allowed to bribe government officials with stolen money, but I'm not.
And for those interested, the law they used YOUR tax money to bribe North Carolina to pass is one that removes and exception to the child-safely seat law. You used to be able to take your child out of a child seat in a car if they had diarrhea all over the place or threw up on themselves. You're not allowed to do that any more in North Carolina, you must leave the child in the seat.

Here's what makes it even more stupid: prior to this law, no child was hurt as a result of being removed from its carseat for a few minutes; however, in the recent past there have been 19 incidents of cars being struck that have pulled off to the side of the road for whatever reason.
So, naturally, what do the Feds insist you must do to deal with child in an emergency situation: pull of to the side of the road before removing the child from the seat.

NC to Ban Light Bulbs

I had heard the news on the radio, but I didn't believe it. I've heard the hype from
around the planet -- but I thought, "That wouldn't happen here." I told someone about it, and they said, "Oh, that will never pass." Well, the time has come for absolute lunatics (aka Democrats) to do what they do -- ban the light bulb.
Yes, North Carolina Democrats have joined the total insanity that is the church of Algore. And this isn't just made-up stuff. I assure you, this is NOT satire. This IS real. This IS Democrats in the North Carolina General Assembly worshiping at the altar of total environmentalism and joining communist regimes around the world.
This IS mainstream DEMOCRAT Representative Harrison introducing HB 838: "AN ACT to prohibit the sale of general service incandescent lamps in the state." I thought, "That won't happen here." Well, it already has. The bill HAS BEEN FILED in the North Carolina General Assembly.
"Oh, that won't pass." Date: 3/15/07. Action: PASSED 1ST READING. Folks, the damn thing has already passed once. In North Carolina, a bill has to be read and passed 3 times to become law. It's already PASSED ONCE. The Democrats in North Carolina have ALREADY VOTED to ban light bulbs!
Oh, but it's even more stupid than that. To be "banned," it must meet the following criteria:
(1) A medium screw base.
(2) A wattage rating no less than 25 watts and no greater than 150 watts.
(3) A shape that is defined as A‑15, A‑19, A‑21, A‑23, A‑25, PS‑25, PS‑30, BT‑14.5, BT‑15, CP‑19, TB‑19, CA‑22, or equivalent shape by the American National Standard Institute standard for electric lamps C78.20‑2003 approved 30 October 2003.
(4) A bulb finish of frosted, clear, or soft white type.
So, if the base is changed, you can sell it all you want.
Even better -- they claim that the lights burn too hot -- so they're going to ban bulbs that are LESS than 150 watts! Guess what -- they make bulbs that are MORE THAN 150 watts! And when the poor can't buy 60-watt bulbs because they're banned and they can't afford the newer, more expensive, government-approved bulbs, know what they're going to buy and put in their lamps? Yup, 200-watt bulbs! This is really, really beyond stupid! What kind of total moron votes for a bill to ban light bulbs because they burn too hot, but doesn't ban the hottest bulbs of them all?
And note the shape limitation. Manufacturers who want to get past this new government ban simply have to make the bulb a slightly different shape that doesn't comply with ANSI standards. If they won't do it, you can bet I will. That's a gold mine waiting to be tapped there!
What total crapholes. I'm sorry for the language, but with all the problems facing government, to even believe that they are wasting time even thinking about banning the common light bulb really tells you volumes about the Democrats in North Carolina. And keep in mind -- THE BILL ALREADY PASSED ONCE.

I will agree that incandescents are not the best. They put out a lot of heat, and use way more energy then compact florescent ones, which are what I tend to buy. They also last longer.
But, whatever happened to freedom of choice? This is just another case of the Leftards looking to control everything. Three way CFL's are not cheap. Nor are basic CFL's.
How soon till they ban other items that they deem bad for global warming as caused by Man? Of all the problems to deal with....
I have come to the conclusion that the whole global warming BS issue is looming large simply to cover up the fact that the Dems do not actually have any real plans that they want to share with people, such as raising taxes and abortion on demand. Nationally, it is a deflection from having no plans for victory in the war on terror and in Iraq, and to cover up them being just as bad ethically as the previous congress was.

It's the "in" thing right now. Look how much news coverage it's getting right now. It's all the rage -- even if it's completely made-up.
And yes, this bill is supported by lighting manufacturers -- because they know people will be forced to buy the more expensive bulbs. You can bet there will be kickbacks, err...donations from lighting manufacturers to Democrats increasing.

Look, algore's a lunatic. I'm with the hundreds of scientists that know that algore is off his rocker. There's absolutely piles of evidence to show that it's just completely false that CO2 is causing global warming. But hey, algore, chief priest of the religion of environmentalism wants to reduce CO2 emissions. Okay, I've got two solutions that will, absolutely, reduce CO2. I expect to see the church of environmentalism adopt these goals immediately if they seriously want to reduce CO2.
The church says that the worse offender, the #1 contributor to CO2 emissions is the evil automobile. They want to ban the internal combustion engine. Well, that's not actually practical, so let's find some practical, working, serious solutions. First, when does the evil automobile cause the most CO2 emissions? Right, at idle and acceleration. So if we can reduce the time an automobile is at idle or acceleration, we WILL reduce emissions.
Solution #1: More roads. One of the biggest causes of CO2 emissions from cars is when they are idle in traffic and when they have to accelerate from a slow down in heavy traffic. We need to build more roads -- lots and lots of roads. Interstate highways that have traffic need their lanes doubled, at least. If it's 2 lanes in each direction, make it 4 or 5. If it's 3, make it 6. Sure, it's expensive, but it will cost less than stopping breathing, as algore has proposed. I'm serious. If you want to reduce CO2 emissions from cars, BUILD MORE ROADS. It will work with absolute certainty.
Solution #2: Stop stopping. The time that a car uses the absolute most fossil fuel and creates the most emissions is when it starts from a stop. It takes a tremendous amount of energy to get something moving from a stop. So if we can reduce the number of times a car has to stop, we can save the environment.
Get rid of all stop signs and traffic lights. Again, I'm completely serious. Most stop signs are speed-control devices, anyway. There's already laws in place to deal with accidents and to determine fault at intersections, so why stop signs? Their primary purpose is to generate revenue for the state and to generate more CO2. If all stops signs were removed, there would be less CO2 in the air -- and it wouldn't cost a dime. Instead of paying government officials to remove them, just announce that anyone who wants one can have one. I bet they all disappear within 48 hours.
Traffic lights have the same problem. They cause people to stop and pollute. Get rid of them. This solution would be a bit more costly, but again, would reduce emissions. When traffic control is really needed, replace the traffic light with a roundabout. Then, most traffic will not have to stop and burn more fuel, creating more CO2. Again, I'm serious. It will keep traffic flowing and it will result in less pollution in the air.
All serious members of the church of environmentalism should immediately sign on to these goals. They are 100% guaranteed to reduce CO2. There is no logical reason for any environmentalist to oppose these two clear solutions to global warming.

I don't think it's going to matter. The global warming is in great part due to the fact that the earth is getting ready to tilt it's axis or may already be in the process of doing it(can't remember from all the reading I've been doing). This is a cycle it goes through every 100,000 years or so. Nothing can stop it so how the heck can anybody stop global warming? That is, assuming these scientists are correct in their cyclic interpretations. I tend to believe this theory more than Al Gore's theory, all things considered. It's kinda hard to believe a nut who can't even get elected in his home state.

Oh, there's no question that it will have absolutely zero effect -- that's not it's purpose, Steph! You see, the Church of Environmentalism says that it WILL make an effect. So they have no choice but to support these efforts. If they don't, then they are obviously NOT in favor of reducing emissions.
Now Birdwoman -- all good environmentalists have been screaming for years that they're concerned with Carbon output. If that's true, they can't be worried about freedom or control. They've often said that they're willing to give up freedom to save the planet. If they honestly want to save the planet and they believe what they're selling, they WILL support this.
No, I'm not holding my breath.

Well, the Church of Environmentalism can do and say whatever they want but if they really want to reduce emissions, they could do like me. I use one tank of gas per month, sometimes less. If I need to go somewhere not far away, I'll walk.

What we need to do is kill all the plants. A scientific study, something that the Goracle has never been involved in, showed that plants release large amounts of methane, which is a much more pervasive greenhouse gas then CO2. So, if we get rid of all the plants, we can reverse all global warming!
