Yet again, government creates a problem, so government goes into action to create more government that will not actually solve a problem but will, as usual, create MORE problems.

North Carolina and surrounding areas are "suffering" under "drought conditions." They claim there's not enough water (because government is not capable of doing their job). Therefore, since government is screwing things up, they have instituted an expensive and heavy-handed communist solution: water police.

Yes, instead of using the FREE and simple free market solution, the socialist/communist government will instead expand -- and don't look for them to decrease when the "crisis" is over (if it indeed ever is determined by government to be over). Here's how it works:

Government makes an arbitrary decision about how much water people should use. They then involve bureaucrats to pass laws to enforce their arbitrary decisions. Then they hire more people and require bureaucrats to go out and enforce those arbitrary decisions. No, they honestly are NOT interested in things like gangs, violence, or other actual problems, they're going to spend time and tax money punishing those who do no obey their arbitrary decisions.

Now that they're spending more money on "water patrols," gasoline to drive the water police around, and paying salaries of the water police, they need to get more money to pay for that, right? So they come up with arbitrary fines that exceed their costs (for a handy-dandy net increase to government). Worse, the fine works with ZERO judicial process. Here's how that one works:

Water police person (NOT a sworn policemen, just a bureaucratic flunky that cannot get a job doing something productive) goes to your house. They hang a fine on your door. That fine shows up in your next water bill. There is zero appeals process. There is no judge involved. There is no jury. ONE bureaucrat, perhaps even without a government education, simply decides to bill you. You either pay the bill or they will shut off your water.

But wait, it's even worse!

One of these slimy bureaucrats said, "I don't enjoy writing tickets to people, but the department has decided that we really need to conserve water." In other words, I don't care what's right or wrong -- the government has spoken and I MUST obey. I will not question my superiors. I will not ask why. I will not consider disobeying. I am inferior to government. Government knows best and I am just a drone that exists to serve my government masters. And if I'm asked to shoot people because government tells me that I should, then I will have to obey them.

Great.

Oh, and want to know what this government drone (Travis Gass) normally does? He usually is used by the government to inspect water lines! Yes, we can now have LESS people inspecting the water lines, leading to MORE water main leaks (a rather common occurance in Mecklenburg County) which will lead to MORE water shortages and MORE water police! Yes, if there's a problem, government CAN make it worse!

And in case you're wearing a brown shirt, you can tattle on your neighbors! This communist government has set up a tattle-tale phone line to respond to anyone who wants to rat our their friends and neighbors who use the wrong amount of water on the wrong day. Oh, but this Orwellian government doesn't call it a tattle tale line, or even a hot line. It's a "referral service" in the eyes of the government masters.

Anyone want to guess how many businesses that water the street with mis-aimed sprinklers gets fined? I'm guessing zero. I bet the government centers and all government-maintained plants get well-maintained, too.

Seriously, can anyone tell me the difference between this setup and a communist government? I honestly cannot see ANY difference. Government makes the rules with ZERO oversight. Government drones obey without question NO MATTER THE ORDERS. Mecklenburg county IS communist.

Oh right, the free market solution? It costs nothing. It requires no one to do anything. All you need to do is raise the price of water a little bit. People will stop using it right away. Incredibly simple and it works. I guess that's why it will never happen.

The only hope I can see is The Free State Project. Escape the world of heavy-handed government and join together with those who really, truly want freedom -- and are willing to do something about it.

Well, it's official now. Laws regarding citizenship are unconstitutional. The government is no longer allowed to pass any law that regards citizens, because the judges of America have decided that there's no such thing.

Once again I tell you: There is no such country as America. It has been ruled that having international borders is illegal.
