ACLU and Sedition

Read the following paragraph and see what you think about it:

Because our own military enemies are now using techniques of propaganda which may involve an attempt to prevent the Bill of Rights to serve the enemy rather than the people of the United States, [our group will] not participate in defense of any person believed to be “cooperating” with or acting on behalf of the enemy.

Does that sound reasonable to you? Would you like to associate with a group that has that statement as part of their official policy? How about this one:
[Our group] bars recipients of its funds from engaging in any activity that “promotes violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any state."

Does that sound like an organization to which you would belong to? For those who think the ACLU does good, you might be surprised at their position on those two statements. The first statement is one that the ACLU not only disagrees with, but is vehemently in opposition to. You see, that statement used to be part of the official policy of the ACLU, but in 1989 they removed that policy from their official policy. That's right, they used to be opposed to defending enemies of the United States, but now they are very clearly supportive of any enemies of America.

Anyone who thinks the ACLU is a good organization cannot support America. This is not hyperbole -- it's the truth. The ACLU SUPPORTS ENEMIES of the United States, without exception. If you support the ACLU, you support enemies of America.

The second statement is another that the ACLU vehemently disagrees with. That statement is from the Ford Foundation. The Ford Foundation simply wanted to not use it's funds to pay for terrorism. The ACLU didn't like that. The ACLU turned down funding from the Ford Foundation allegedly because of that statement by the Ford Foundation.

However, they may have refused funding because they simply could not abide by the restrictions put upon that money by the Ford Foundation. So either the ACLU doesn't like the fact that Ford doesn't like terrorists or the ACLU is directly funding terrorists themselves.

This is where your money is going if you support the ACLU, whether you want it to or not.

1 Awesome job Ogre! You said very elegantly what I was attempting to get across with my post. Simple, to the point truth. Thanks,Jay

2 I just really can't see how people can honestly say that the ACLU is good when they quite clearly and obviously support terrorists and oppose America, despite their lies about "civil rights."

3 I am going to be the voice of dissent and say the as a card carrying member of the ACLU, you couldn't be more wrong. The organization, while admittedly extreme, is there to protect everyone's rights, regardless of whether you agree with their views or not. They have been know to help a few conservatives in their day as well, stopping Rush Limbaugh's personal medical records from being released for example. I believe myself to be a true American patriot by supporting them.

4 Even seeing this data, you still believe in the ACLU? Do you honestly believe that terrorists should have the freedom to kill you? Do you believe that terrorists should have freedom to kill your family and small children? The ACLU does. And you're right, I don't agree with their views -- they agree and financially support people who want me dead.

5 I don't know where you got those quotes from so I'm not going stand by them. The ACLU, one of the oldest organizations in this country, is basically a group of lawyers who try to defend the Civil Liberties of Americans. They are not affiliated with any political party. They are the ones who push back when our own government goes too far, i.e. the Patriot Act. I'm sorry to hear so many people want their rights taken away from them. Those rights that we are supposedly fighting in Iraq to keep. Are you willing to live in a dictatorial state?

6 Those quotes come from the ACLU. They were founded by communists. Lawyers can be communists. They DO NOT defend the civil liberties of Americans, that's what I'm trying to point out. They openly hate anything associated with freedom or Christianity because those are enemies of communism.
