ADL Opposes Freedom of Speech
What do you know -- another group that claims to support freedom shows that they only support it when you agree with them. Abraham Foxman of the US Jewish Anti-Defamation League
wants a
criminal investigation into a person who dared to utter forbidden words, "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."
Really, that's all. He didn't say anything about killing them, he didn't say anything about wanting them dead. He didn't say anything else, at all, about them. But Mr. Foxman wants this person arrested and charged with a crime. Obviously Mr. Foxman is a strong supporter of punishing people who do not verbally agree with him.
Mr. Foxman, you are free to disagree with anyone you want. You are free to say nearly anything you like. However, when you advocate using the force of government to punish someone who merely makes a statement that you, personally, don't like, you are way out of line. You had better hope that there is no criminal punishment for freedom of speech -- for one day someone may be in power who disagrees with YOUR speech.

It's coming from every direction. The policing of everything we say. I don't condone what Mel Gibson said...and he was drunk...but I sure as hell don't want him getting into any trouble for his speech.

Teddy left a dead girl in the car, and his apology was accepted.

And he didn't even say anything that bad! He just said that "Jews are the causes of all the wars!" If I said that "French are the causes of all the wars," what would happen? People would LAUGH! It doesn't make any sense, logically.

Mel wasn't that drunk. He only blew a 0.12. That's more like buzzed. He's free to say whatever he wants, even if it is crazy talk.

That's a whole 'nuther issue. I honestly do not believe the police should have had any right to arrest him. I can see stopping him, as he was speeding, but 0.12 should NOT be a DUI as a person with that BAC is no more likely to cause an accident than a person with a 0.01 BAC.
