Anti-Smoking Nazis in NC

Ah, the anti-smoking (and anti-freedom) Nazis are hard at work in North Carolina -- and they're winning. According to this poll, 65% of the people in North Carolina strongly oppose freedom and do not want anyone in North Carolina to have any freedom.

Of course, that's not what the news article says, it simply reports that 65% of people want to ban all smoking in all public places. And of course, even that information is slanted to meet the agenda of the writers. As a matter of fact, the poll asked if they opposed smoking in "public buildings, restaurants, offices and bars" -- which is a FAR cry from "in public" -- but the clear and obvious goal of these anti-freedom people.

Look, if you are one of the 65% of people who support the government banning smoking in all public places, you are an anti-freedom moron. Sorry that you are, and I'm sorry if you're insulted by that statement -- but it's true. When YOU decide that I cannot smoke outdoors, YOU are supporting the complete and total destruction of freedom. It's simply none of your business.

Don't start with the red herring of "second-hand smoke," because those studies have been shown to be questionable -- and they don't even apply because I could smoke and be NOWHERE NEAR ANYONE ELSE, but still be punished for exercising freedom.

However, polls like this do show that any hope for freedom in North Carolina is completely and absolutely gone. If 65% of people strongly oppose freedom, how will the other 35% of us have a chance?

1 I agree. The same thing is happening in Pittsburgh now. If they want to ban smoking in city buildings, that is one thing. Making a private business comply is another.

2 What honestly shocks me the most is the number of people who support this. If government can ban smoking outdoors because it offends people, they can literally ban anything that offends anyone.

5 Try living in Arizona where the Anti-Freadom people want to impose $5,000,000 per year tax Increase in order to make sure there is no smokeing anywhere but in your car or in your house. Not even outside in your own yard.

7 Michael, MOVE. Where to, I don't know, but I think New Hampshire may be the last hope for any freedom in the world.
