Clark Jenkins works for racism

North Carolina Senator Clark Jenkins is working hard to promote racism in North Carolina. Jenkins, of course, is a Democrat, and he wants to pay out state money for state contracts based on skin color, income levels, and sex, rather than actual ability to do work.

That's typical of Democrats and the left -- they're more interested in feelings than in responsibility -- and he wants to use the force of North Carolina State Law to ensure that the state can "legally" discriminate based on skin color.

Now imagine if a Republican had proposed that state contracts be awarded based on skin color. At the least, it would make national news, and the entire state of North Carolina would be painted as a hotbed of KKK activity. You see, it's perfectly okay to discriminate against someone with light skin, but it's not okay to discriminate against people with dark skin.

This is what you get when you have Democrats running the state. Perhaps that's why so many black people vote Democrat -- because they get paid cash from Democrats. Of course, what those people don't seem to realize is that the Democrats can only get that money by taking it from subjects citizens of the state.

Worse yet, Mr. Jenkins blatantly lies about his intentions. He claims that he wants to encourage competition -- but when you automatically judge based on skin color, what sort of competition are you trying to foster, Senator Jenkins?

St. Pat's "News?"

I was just send this video from a blogless friend. It's a news story about St. Patrick's Day and a ... well, a leprechan that people say lives in a tree. I can't believe this actually aired on television and that these people are sane.

The best line? "It could be a crackhead."

More GOOD NC Homeschooling News

The education system in North Carolina is really, really broken. Those who work inside it have zero interest in fixing it -- only in obtaining more power, money, and control. Keep that in mind when dealing with the government-run monopoly education system -- they are NOT interested in education, just money and power.

That's why I love reading about homeschooling, especially in North Carolina. I've mentioned before how much homeschooling is growing in North Carolina, mainly because of the poor "school environment" in North Carolina.

This news is regarding sports -- North Carolina Homeschooling just held the largest state championship for homeschoolers in the country for basketball -- there's over 42 teams in 11 cities. So much for the homeschoolers and their "lack of social interaction," eh?

There's other good news in the report, too, including music, debate, and other arts. Go read the good news!

To: Senator Dole & Senator Burr

A copy of my letter to my Senators:

Regarding amnesty, as Representative Sue Myrick said to President Bush:

No only "No," but "Hell, No!"

No amnesty. No "guest worker" programs. No free ride for "priests" protecting lawbreakers. No "400,000 new green cards." No 1.5 million illegals in the "agricultural industry." That bill that passed out of committee IS amnesty, no matter what anyone calls it.

What should be done is to enforce the law. At the federal level, all government business should be done in English, period. All federal funding for education, welfare, health and human services, etc., should be done in English. If a state wants to speak Spanish, let that state pay for it. And yes, businesses should be punished for hiring criminal aliens.

Priests should not be suddenly shielded. Are they allowed to hide bank robbers and murderers, simply because they're priests? These criminal aliens are not allowed to vote (even if they can in North Carolina) -- so do not worry about losing an election because you didn't give them freebies from the US Government.

This is a major problem that is costing America billions and billions of dollars. Do not give in and cave giving non-citizens my money. STOP the giveaways. Build a fence. You don't have to deport them -- just stop giving them free education, free health care, and free housing -- and punish the businesses that enable them to continue TO BREAK THE LAW.

North Carolina Conservative Agenda

Yesterday was the introduction to the 7-point Conservative Agenda for this year's "short" session of the North Carolina General Assembly. Today I will discuss point 1:

Eliminate so-called Temporary Taxes

Feel free to join in this discussion with me, posting comments that you support or oppose these suggested actions of the General Assembly.
Temporary taxes were imposed in 2001 for a two-year period to meet a downturn in the economy. They were supposed to be part of a package that also cut spending. However, in the past five years tax increases have been passed two more times and spending has increased 20%. Why do we still have temporary taxes?

During the first seven months of the present fiscal year the state has over-taxed citizens by more than $260 million. Most experts predict the-end-of-the-year surplus will be $600 million. Liberals will always find new ways to spend the surplus on “needed” programs. Conservatives should fight to return surplus money to taxpayers.

Unless “temporary taxes” are removed when there is a surplus, they will become permanent.

I'm not sure that I've ever heard of a tax that was actually temporary. Did you realize that the federal income tax was supposed to be "temporary," too? Government are absolutely addicted to spending worse than someone on crack. And yes, since this was a temporary tax, the legislature actually does vote to renew them each and every year.

This is indeed one of the very few years that the state government is running a surplus -- and that's not including the hundreds of million that are supposed to be raised by the lottery -- so it's likely the state will bring in $1 BILLION more than budgeted. That's MY damn money.

Only 23% of people surveyed in North Carolina support spending more money by the government. I oppose ANY new spending by the government on ANY program. This state is so bloated, they'll actually have trouble finding things to spend that spare billion on -- not that they won't do, it will just take some time.

The Democrat-run legislature is unlikely to remove or reduce taxes, certainly not taxes that have been in place for 5 years. I agree that the temporary taxes should be removed, but I don't see much hope of getting that past the Democrats. Let's hope I'm wrong.

It's only the radicals

That's right. Keep trying to convince me. It's not REAL Islam that's violent, it's only the radicals. It's only one or two people that are Muslims who are violent and want to kill Abdur Rahman for being Christian, not the whole religion.

Apparently every single radical Muslim in the world has gathered in Afghanistan.

Bush, get off your duff and go personally offer Abdur Rahman asylum.

I cannot understand the minds of people who actually believe this religion has anything to do with peace, other than peace through total destruction of all enemies.

Break in Democrat Unity

Now things are really looking bad for Jim Black, Speaker of the North Carolina House. More Democrats are now running away from him with the news that the North Carolina Attorney General will not approve the state paying for $200,000 of Black's legal fees.

The decision can only be overriden by the governor. That will be the signal to determine whether all North Carolina Democrats have left Jim Black.

Black has created all these legal bills by having to respond to various subpeanas by state and federal government that is investigating his campaign lawbreaking and other questionable dealings. Black asked the state to pay his legal bills, and the state, run completely by Democrats, has now officially declined, leaving Black to pay his own bills.

If the governor intervenes and gives Black the money, that will show that the Democrats are staying united and still supporting Black. However, if the governor does not intervene, that will be a signal to all the rest of the North Carolina Democrats that Governor Easley is cutting Black loose.

I don't think even Easley is going to try and help Black at this point, knowing it's an election year for the General Assembly, and the people are already starting to smell the stink from the Democrats running the place in Asheville.

Student Criminals Rewarded for MORE crimes

Michelle Malkin has the story that I imagined was happening this morning as I was watching news reruns. The students that walked out of schools in CA to "protest" and disrupt traffic have not only not been punished, but actually rewarded.

Letters were sent out, both in English and Spanish, to inform parents that the police would be taking care of the lawbreakers, including providing them with rides back to the school after they blocked traffic on an interstate. The police instead should have arrested them. Do you think I could get away with walking on an interstate and blocking traffic if I wanted to protest something?

The students instead should be suspended from school. Those who did NOT participate should be rewarded by having school days without disruption from those who are lawbreakers. The federal government should suspend all funding of those school districts -- why am *I* being forced to pay for students to walk on an interstate highway?

The students should be warned that if they disrupt the school day again that they will be suspended. The police should have had paddy wagons out, picking up the "kids." Do you think for a minute they would have kept going if there were a couple arrests and shots fired?

No, I don't care about the escalation. It's too late -- it's already escalted. We have now shown the "kids" in CA that if you don't want to go to school because the Congress might actually make your parents responsible for their own actions, that not only is it okay, we will protect you while you do it.

I'm not sure there's any hope left for this country.

I-95 Toll Booths

It appears to just be a matter of time before North Carolina creates a few toll roads. Recently Virginia voted to add a toll on their side of the state line, so North Carolina, not to be outdone, has started talking about adding one on THEIR side of the line.

State Senator Tony Rand (D) says that he wants a toll road there. Why? So he can have more money to spend. In his official statements, he claims the money will be used to fix I-95. He's lying. The money would go into the general fund for them to use on whatever they want.

Oh, sure, the law passed will say that all proceeds will go to the highway trust fund -- but they'll just continue doing as they are now, voting each year to take hundreds of millions of dollars out of that trust fund that's supposed to build roads and plop it in the general fund.

When the Democrat-controlled legislature of North Carolina votes for anything, you can rest assured it IS about getting them more power, more money, and more control. Yet people keep voting for these power-mad legislators.

Okay, then. I found a new "thingy" and thought I'd give you folks, my good readers, the chance to try it out. If you've got a microphone hooked up to your computer, you should be able to leave me voicemail. Really.

It's from Odeo, and the main button is over there on the right side, just above the blogrolls. Feel free to give it a shot and I'll let you know if I get the voicemails!

New Advertisers

So, need somewhere to visit today?

Over on the left side, you can find Jim Black Must Go. That site is often updated with news and information about the clear violations of law by Jim Black and various reactions to them. It now lists ALL the major newspapers in North Carolina -- who have all called for his resignation.

At the top of the left side, you'll find Real Thoughts. He claims to be

a conservative native Californian who is a teacher.

I'm not sure such a thing really exists, but who would make that up? Go have a read, some good stuff there.

On the top of the right sidebar, you'll find a link to Larry Kissell for Congress. I'm still not sure if I'm violating federal law by talking about the ad, but then I think that was the point of the law -- to confuse the masses and allow them to be prosecuted whenever the imperial royals decide to.

So go on, pick a link and click away. And if you're so inclined, you can buy an ad in one of those places, too -- there's plenty of room!

Seven-Point Conservative Agenda

The General Assembly will reconvene May 9 for the short session and conservatives hope that despite the leftÂ’s domination of the State Legislature, and the GovernorÂ’s Mansion, we might still be able to address some important issues with commonsense conservative solutions. This short session conservatives should look to accomplish seven things.

This is an introduction to the conference I will be attending next weekend to live blog as a "member of the media." There are seven clear points and ideas that might get addressed by the General Assembly. Over the next week leading up to the conference, each day around 10am EST, I'll post one of the seven points and discuss it.

Yes, the General Assembly is absolutely dominated by control-freak lefties. The Democrats certainly rule with an iron fist, giving no quarter and caring nothing for anyone who says that they are a conservative. However, it is an election year, so certainly the Democrats will need something to crow about during the election.

Since the people of North Carolina don't like Democrat ideas, look for the Democrats to either outright lie, as Easley did to get elected governor last time; or to just take some Conservative ideas and claim them for their own -- just until the election is over.

If you're in North Carolina, or just interested in conservative politics, be sure to stop by and see what the conservatives of North Carolina want this year -- and whether Ogre agrees with them.

Criminal Alien Blogburst

This past week there were numerous demonstrations across the country, as immigrants were organized to protest any federal legislation that would tighten immigration enforcement. The rallies were organized by unions, church groups, socialist activists, civil rights advocates, and immigrant organizations to demand free immigration rights as their due and protest the "unjust laws" of our nation. more...

Sue Myrick on Illegals

For those who thought the criminal aliens protesting around the country this weekend were just taking a break from collecting their welfare checks to protest, realize that they really did have a purpose (allegedly) -- and no, I don't know why they didn't just get a pile of INS (or ICE, whatever) of buses and park them at the end of each demonstration route. The reason given for the protest was House Bill 4437, currently up for debate in the US Senate. That bill passed the House in December, 2005.

Sue Myrick, esteemed House representative for North Carolina's 9th district for a good number of years, had a press release regarding an amendment she added to the bill that would deport criminal aliens who are convicted of DUI. The initial bill didn't deport them until they had THREE DUIs:

My amendment will also give specially trained State and local law enforcement officers the authority to detain drunk driving illegal aliens so they canÂ’t run from their court dates and be free to drink and drive again- as is currently the case.

The amendment also allows these same officers to transport illegal aliens into federal custody so they can be deported, and they will be reimbursed by the Department of Homeland Security for doing so.

Information on the illegal alien drunk drivers will be reported to the Department of Homeland Security, the National Criminal Information Center and the Drivers License Agreement of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.

The authorities and information collection will give us another tool to use against criminal illegal aliens who continue to break our laws and threaten our safety.

By passing this amendment today, we will be sending a strong message that we will no longer tolerate criminal illegal aliens.

You drink. You drive. YouÂ’re illegal. YouÂ’re deported. Period.

I'm confused.

Now I do appreciate this effort. Ms. Myrick is in a very safe Republican seat, but this will certainly shore up her support from all corners. There were rumors that she was considering running for governor of NC, and things like this action would make that easier. But I'm confused.

I thought it was already illegal to be in this country illegally. Aren't there already laws that prohibit entry into this country? If there are, then why is this law needed? Can't we already deport criminal aliens? Oh, I'm fully aware that we're NOT doing it, I just thought we already could.

I also applaud her efforts to encourage local police to transport and detain criminal aliens, but I'm just not sure this law isn't just a duplication of what's already there, with that exception...

NC Lottery Commercials

Well it's time. The unconstitutionally passed, but black-robed approved lottery in North Carolina that will NOT pay for education will begin it's advertising today. Keep in mind the law that created the lottery explicits says that the advertising for the lottery is covered by the law:

No advertising may intentionally target specific groups or economic classes.
No advertising may...present any lottery game as a means of relieving any person's financial or personal difficulties.
No advertising may have the primary purpose of inducing persons to participate in the lottery.

So this will be some good advertising, won't it? I guess it will be like the completely b.s. smoking ads that the manufacturers were forced at gunpoint to run that say smoking is bad for you.

So the ads cannot target people who might actually play the game. No seniors, poor people, or minorities may be advertised to. The ads cannot tell people that they can pay off their bills with lottery winnings. And the ad cannot be designed to make people actually play the lottery.

What's left? A big, blank screen that says, "North Carolina Lottery: It's for the children." I guess that would work because the law doesn't say the ads can't be blatant lies.

Then again, since this is the Democrat's special program, if the advertising breaks the law, what makes anyone think the Democrats will actually care about it? They don't care about breaking any other law, constitutional or not, that they don't like.

What a cesspool.

Student in NC House?

Thomas Kyle Jones, a student at William Teach's East Carolina University, is running for election to the North Carolina House in district 5. He's running as a Republican because he wants to introduce some accountability in spending in North Carolina.

Now I'm not one to rain on someone's parade, but good luck, Mr. Jones. North Carolina House District 5 was drawn to be a Democrat seat, and it will always be a Democrat seat.

Going back as far as 1996, no one has made a challenge to the Democrats in that seat. Sure, in 2004, a Libertarian candidate (which have since been outlawed) got a couple votes -- less than 1% -- but other than that, no one has even presented even token opposition in the general election.

The latest figures from the North Carolina Board of elections shows the district to be 75% registered Democrat and 13% Democrats who won't admit they're Democrats ("unaffiliated"). So Jones will have to overcome 88% of the people who are going to vote against him because he doesn't have a "D" after his name.

I'm not saying it can't be done -- there's just over 43,000 registered voters in that district. With this year's turnout likely to be very low (no "big-ticket" elections), there might be 10% of eligible voters who vote (damn lazy bastards). So 4,300 may vote. Jones only needs about 2,151 votes to win.

He could do it -- if he starts walking and asking for votes now. If you're near him (Greenville, NC), please do take a look. He supports a taxpayer's bill of rights -- like about 80% of the population of North Carolina.

Dell Tech Support

I actually contacted them yesterday. I can hear the groans already -- and yes, I seriously did NOT want to call them...

I got a call about a monitor not working. It took me about 2 minutes to confirm the monitor was broken. I knew it, but I did NOT want to call Dell. So I played with it, banged it, tried other plugs, computers, etc., and just verified that I was right -- the monitor was broken. It was a Dell. I'd have to call them.

Instead of calling, I searched the web site and the internet, hoping to find the problem. Of course, nothing. Instead of making the phone call to someone who I know wouldn't be able to speak English (Dell's home tech support is all India, all the time), I decided to try their "web chat."

I really didn't want to, but I had to.

I got Shahir Ramit, or something like that. He typed really slow and was chatting with more than just me -- at least once he typed instructions for someone else in my chat window. He asked all the usual questions which I patiently answered. He asked my phone number three times to verify account information. It was slow.

Then he absolutely shocked me. I still can't believe it. He typed, "Hold on a couple minutes while I create a way bill for you." I didn't know what was coming. I guessed he'd ask me to ship the monitor to him -- and of course I didn't have the box. Then I really wet 'em -- he typed that the new monitor would arrive in 2-3 days and did I need anything else.

I nearly fainted.

Apparently Dell is trying to do something about their horrible technical support reputation. They're shipping a new monitor and then I get to send back the broken one. I'm quite impressed.

Reparations due from Democrats

Former mayor of Wilmington, NC, Harper Peterson, has decided that people should pay reparations to victims of the Wilmington race riots in which some black elected government officials and some white officials were thrown out of office by force. Three blacks and seven whites were driven out of town violently.

Okay, let's go with reparations -- if someone wants to pay reparations, those who are guilty should do it. Well, it was the Democrat Party that initiated the riots, and it was Republicans who were the victims. So no, government shouldn't pay -- DEMOCRATS should pay. And they should pay those they attacked -- REPUBLICANS.

Now, who else is on board with reparations?
