Ed Brown Blog

Enemy of the State Ed Brown has a blog dedicated to supporting him. I first mentioned him here, but many others are keeping much more up to date than I can. Be sure to check there for how the arrest goes and perhaps a body count, as unfortunate as that may be.

Lawsuit Lottery #1,249

Yes, we have yet another entrant into the lawsuit lottery. Jennifer Strange's family has decided they want to see if they can profit off their mother's death and they want someone else, anyone else, to give them a pile of cash because, well, because they're greedy and want money.

In case the name doesn't ring a bell, Jennifer Strange is the person who died from drinking too much water during a radio station contest in California. As far as I'm aware, there was no one there forcing her to drink the water in any way, shape, or form. In fact, it wasn't even he evil employer that threatened to fire her if she didn't drink the water. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't someone of a different skin color that threatened her if she didn't drink the water. In fact, I'm pretty darn sure that she actually voluntarily drank the water herself.

But that doesn't matter.

Instead, her family wants cash, and lots of it. They've sued FIFTY people, hoping that one of them will give in and send them buckets of money. Apparently they have set a cash value on this woman's life, and once that dollar amount is reached, then they will no longer mourn her death, but instead will celebrate that she brought them so much money.

Oh, and that wavier of liability? You know the one -- the one that everyone has to sign before, well, doing just about anything in this damn country any more -- well, the lottery entrants claim it doesn't exist. But know what? It doesn't really matter if it doesn't exist. This is California, where legal agreements have little weight in a court of law. I'm quite sure the judge in the case will determine that the legal adult who signed the legal document (if it exists) just was "too stupid" to understand what she was signing, so that it doesn't really matter.

If there were justice in this country, all the defendants instead should sue the family for causing them stress and bad public relations. At the very least, the lawyer who filed the suit and the family should be heavily fined for wasting the court's time and filing a frivolous lawsuit. But it's California. The only remaining question is will the family profit over or under a million dollars.

NC Legislature Collects More

Early reports indicate that there is yet another "surplus" for the Democrats of the North Carolina General Assembly to spend. Democrat lawmakers are licking their lips at the prospects of spending all this unexpected money -- and still are going to raise taxes.

Last year the Democrat-ruled legislature collected $1.1 BILLION more than they were supposed to get. With a budget of $18 Billion, that's a LOT of money. Know what they did? If you know Democrats, you do. They raised taxes a billion dollars and spent literally every single dime of the "extra" money. If they were honorable legislators, they'd have returned the money to the people who earned it. But they are Democrats.

This year they started the year expecting to be short a billion dollars or so. The newest figures show that they may actually have collected $285 million more than was "projected." So what do they plan? Of course. They're considering a tax increase in the range of $300 million and spending increases in the range of $1.5 billion more.

I don't know how legislative "leaders" can actually claim to be fiscally responsible with a straight face. Maybe in the la-la land of Democrats, "fiscally responsible" means "spending as much money as you can in the shortest amount of time no matter how you get the money."

What priorities are there for the Democrats who rule North Carolina with an iron fist? Well, their newly elected leader wants:

Massive spending increases for government employees for no production. In other words, those who "work" for government should be rewarded with huge cash increases for doing exactly the same job they're doing now. This will cost billions in new or increased taxes.

Socialized, state-run health care. This will crush freedom completely and cost tens of billions in expenditures and increased taxes.

Billions in environmental spending so the state can obtain more land from private people. This will cost money both to purchase the land and in the lost property tax revenue.

Freedom, you are not welcome in North Carolina. Workers, you are welcome, businesses, you are welcome; but you must spend the majority of your time working and providing for others in the state who refuse to work.

Diversity is WHAT?

There's a banner I've seen hanging on a fence in Charlotte. Usually when the socialists and leftists make up new meaning for actual words, I can understand what kind of crap they are selling. But this time I have absolutely no idea what message they're trying to get across.

Now if this were on a government school, I could understand that's part of their indoctrination process and twisting of reality. I could understand government buildings that are trying to brain wash government drones into doing what government says, no matter what is right or wrong.

But this banner? It's hanging on a DAY CARE CENTER. One of those places that has little kids that can't read. So the sign has to be aimed at either the parents of the little babies; or at the general public that drives past (it's a busy road). So does anyone here have any clue what the heck moronic liberal/socialist message this is trying to get across?

Pledge to Support the War

Now I'll be the first one to admit that Bush has problems. He's caving in to Democrats left and right. He's spending way, way, way too much money. He's approving to way too many stupid regulations. He's expanding government like never before. He has no clue about American sovereignty and couldn't find the southern border of America with a south Texas guide.

But on Iraq, he's got the right idea, almost. The ONLY way to slow terrorism in Iraq is to kill the bastards. I'm sorry, but that's the only way. If you truly want to stop terrorism, you need to drop bombs, kill people, and break things until there is no such thing as state-sponsored religion. It really is that simple.

And now the Democrats are threatening all sorts of "maneuvers" to remove funding from the troops and completely undermine the actions of the troops. The only thing Bush has actually stood firm on is his resolve to finish the battle in Iraq -- and the Congress is actively working hard against him.

Now while the Democrats continue their attack on the troops, the Republicans in Congress should stand united against them. It doesn't look like they will. So NZ Bear has put together a pledge that is gathering signatures of people who will pledge to NOT support Republicans who actively work with Democrats against the troops (Hagel). If you're interested go check it out and sign it if you like. I don't know if any Republican Senators will read it, but they might...

No Free Speech

The right to freedom of speech continues to be attacked in this country.

Now keep in mind, for those of you educated in the government schools, the first amendment applies to GOVERNMENT. These amendments DO NOT grant anything -- instead they are prohibitions on what GOVERNMENT can do. In other words, I can say whatever I want (without endangering someone else) and GOVERNMENT shall not stop me. However, I do have to live with the repercussions of what I say from other people.

But two things in the news directly conflict with that amendment, showing that government honestly does not care about this amendment.

The first one is a school banning students from chanting "U.S.A." Now the school IS government, and while the students do not have unlimited rights while at a school, these people are just morons. The school is claiming that the letters "U.S.A" don't mean United States of America, but instead mean something else. Well I'll tell you what, idiot school officials, how about you pretend they mean whatever you want them to mean, and I'll pretend they mean what I want them to mean. Freedom, it's a novel concept.

The next story is much, much worse. Mayor Ken Corley of Brazoria, Texas, has decided that HIS government wants to not only ban a certain word, but only ban it when certain people say it. He wants to ban the "evil" n-word, but only when white people say it. Yes, this is for real. He's proposed that if a white person says the verbotten word, they will be fined $500. But if a black person says it, then it's perfectly okay.

Is there really any hope for justice and freedom today? It sure doesn't look like it to me. Maybe I should go join Ed Brown.

Guilford College Hate Crime

It seems some athletes from Guilford College in North Carolina have been charged with hate crimes. In North Carolina, when you attack one of the chosen groups, specifically, specially protected by government, it's called "ethnic intimidation." And if you're white, no, you're not protected as much as anyone else.

Am I the only person that has a real problem with any "special" group of people being more protected than others? Why is the punishment more severe if you punch a black person in face than if you punch a white person in the face? If there truly were equal protection under the law, everyone would get the same punishment for committing a crime, no matter what color their skin was.

But even more importantly, in this report (and all press reports of this story), there's something that's really missing. Did you follow the link and notice it? In this case, the students were beat and claim they were called "terrorists." And yes, they were "Palestinians." But no press report actually asks if they are terrorists.

If you identify with the Palestinians, you are identifying with a group of people that has a long history of nothing but terrorism. At the same time, reports have recently been published of various different terrorist organizations that are planning on infiltrating the US with students on student visas. So were these "victims" actually terrorists? Know what? No one has asked that question. No one has asked the people who did the beating why they did it.

In fact, if these students were actually stopped in progress of committing a terrorist act, would these reports read ANY different? I don't think they would. An unbiased press might actually ask questions and seek answers. However, you won't find a reporter today in the major media that isn't trying to push their agenda on you, despite what the facts might be.

Discount Mats.com Update

Previously I had provided here a lot of information about the source of the American hatred by a muslim "businessman" in Wisconsin, related to the Discount-Mats.com web site. Much information was very publicly availiable for anyone (including reporters) who wanted that information. Very suddenly, all that information has changed.

Once again, we're not dealing with a techno-illiterate American-hater here. We're dealing with someone who set up at least six related web sites that were very inactive. There were blogs that hadn't been touched in over a year, but were still registered. There were companies that appeared to have no inventory and no business. And they were all related to one another and a few other muslims who were openly critical of the US and openly hostile to America.

Overnight, all those domain registrations changed. That's not something that an average business owner who was trying to sell things over the internet would do -- especially to all the sites if they were not related. Something really stinks in WI, and it's not the fish. Folks, this is a battle for America, and we're currently losing.

Perhaps we need more people like the person who responded to the muslim like this:

Mr. Khetani:

If you and your family and friends think you can intimidate bloggers after we've posted about your abominable email response to our military Sgt. who was trying to buy some mats from Discount-mats.com, you've got another think coming. I've posted about you twice, so go ahead and try to delete my post, you jagoff. When will the Islamofascists begin fragging in their own militia units? It can't be soon enough.

We will collectively shut down all your businesses by halting all incoming commerce. U.S. bloggers will boycott all your businesses that we can find, and trust me on this one.... our internet access is unfettered (unlike that of the Muslim world, but which you enjoy here in the U.S.), and anything we discover about your businesses or affiliations with perceived terrorist organizations will not only be spread about the Internet, but also reported to the FBI and the JTTF. Don't know what JTTF is? Check that one out, too.

Good luck, Mr. Moooooslem.

Signed,
A proud American infidel who will fight for her friends' lives against enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Now if we could just get Washington, DC on the side of America, maybe we could win this battle.

And for the latest summary and updates, be sure to check Euphoric Reality who summarizes thusly:

One week ago, when one of our soldiers emailed several retailers to inquire about their shipping policies for APOs, he had no idea what would follow. He only wanted to get sleeping mats for his troops who had to sleep on the ground. Instead, as has been reported extensively, he received a rude response from a company, Discount-Mats, with an admonition to “pull out of Iraq.”

When I published the story on Sunday, I, like many others, first assumed that the business owner was merely an anti-war liberal who wanted to score a cheap political point at the expense of our soldiers. The business was immediately inundated with thousands of emails and phone calls from Americans upset by how rudely our soldier was rebuffed. I, myself, emailed three times to say I disapproved of their policies and that it was very bad for business and that I would be sure to spread the word far and wide. The website was experiencing technical difficulties by Monday and then was completely shut down.

Prior to the website’s demise, I looked it over thoroughly. I immediately discovered that the owner of the website was Faisal Khetani, who lived in West Allis, WI - near Milwaukee. I also discovered many other questionable websites that Discount-Mats.com was connected to (more on that later).

Faisal Khetani is a Muslim, of Pakistani origin, which somewhat explains his anti-war views but not his unconscionable rudeness. Now, three days after this story hit the blogosphere, the media is making a victim out of Khetani, chiding bloggers and radio hosts for fomenting the emails and traffic that overwhelmed his website. The media hasn’t bothered to look any deeper at who Faisal Khetani is, who his associates are that are involved in his business(es), or who his family is. I’ve done all of the above over the past four days - I thought it was worth taking the time to check into the background and affiliations of the Muslims invovled. What I’ve found so far is summarized below:

The Khetani Family

  • Faisal Khetani is 24 years old and lives with his parents, Ramzan and Amina Khetani, in West Allis. He operates his business out of their home.

  • Ramzan Khetani, age 55, is an engineer who works in the engineering department for Wisconsin’s state facilities. As such, he has ready access to building blueprints and site plans. Ramzan formerly operated a home-based business under the name Khetani Consulting Group, which he had established in 1999 and dissolved in March 2006.

  • Amina Khetani, age 55, is a data architect in the information technology industry.

  • Salman RamzanAli Khetani is Faisal’s older brother. He holds a Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering, and received a fellowship award from National Science Foundation (confirms the connection to Faisal - home address is the same). When you do a keyword search for Salman R Khetani, youÂ’ll find that Salman Khetani is quite knowledgable and involved in toxicity studies, engineered tissue, and disease studies.

  • Faisal Khetani has claimed that he “fired” the unnamed employee who sent the original rude email to SGT Hess, since the email didn’t reflect the company’s position. Then, he contradicted himself and confirmed that the company was indeed anti-war:

“As I told my local reporters, the individual who made those statements has been held responsible and liable and what they spoke of apo addresses is absolutely true, but the second half was their own personal opinion and not the opinions of the company.”

“I will say this, my company most certainly doesnÂ’t support the war, and we do hope that the policies will change.”

Faisal has claimed to the media that Discount-Mats has ten employees - and they’ve accepted his claim at face value. They’ve also reported that the unnamed employee was fired, without verifying if there was an employee. Considering the business is operated from his parents’ home, it is highly doubtful that there is an “employee”, and it’s likely that the email was from Faisal himself. There are no businesses with the name Discount Mats or Bargain Suppliers (or any variation thereof) registered in the state of Wisconsin. A search of the worker’s compensation database shows no company by those names either. It is not a legitimate business, nor does it have employees. Faisal Khetani is not telling the truth - that makes him suspect.

In that same letter, Khetani also threatened Kirkland with unleashing the wrath of “major muslim organizations” on her for her “insults”. He closed by telling Kirkland, “you can be sure that there are million of muslim activists as well that will do something about your foul statements…. your statements against Muslims and your direct insults will not go unheard, I assure you.”

Perhaps one of those major Muslim organization is the Muslim Student Association (MSA), with which the Discount-Mats “VP” is affiliated. No doubt CAIR will get involved, by default.

    Khetani Associates

  • Sajid Nasir is the vice-president and self-described co-owner of Discount-Mats. He has issued some strong statements alleging that the Khetani family is being harassed by vulgar and angry phone calls. Sajid is also a Muslim activist on the UW-Milwaukee campus (See Update Ten for more details on his activism.).

  • Ahmed Bushra, 24, is an engineering student. He claims he worked at, and managed, a North Shore jewelry store in Milwaukee.

  • Possible peripheral contacts, based upon association with Sajid Nasir:

  • Furqan Hanif (replacement registrant for Sajid’s website)

  • Adam Abdi (Muslim activist at UW-Milwaukee)
  • Bogus Websites

There is an ever-increasing network of Muslim-owned websites that share the same characteristics:

    1. Owned by Muslim men in their mid-20s, who live in the Milwaukee area.

    2. Inter-connected and inter-linked to one another.

    3. Four sites share a Paypal account under the name “Bargain Suppliers” (WLWR, BDP, QDS, DM)

    4. Share same website template.

    5. Identical configuration.

  • generic junk content

  • junk resources and links

  • basic contact form (email address and message only - for discreet online communication?)

  • email subscription form

  • many empty pages/dead links

  • set-up and abandoned blog sites

  • 6. Jan 24 07: all sites changed WhoIS registry to anonymous registrant (with the exception of Discount-Mats and Quality-Discount-Scooters).

  • Faisal Khetani owns several wildly divergent business websites:

Faisal Khetani, in addition to owning Discount-Mats.com, is also a supposed fitness expert/consultant: Weight Lifting Workout Routines (WLWR).

  • He also owns Chicago Plumbing Guide, registered under the name Salman Farsi, but the same P.O. address in Milwaukee as Faisal’s other domains. This website links Faisal to the plumbing industry. (Note: What’s interesting about the choice of Salman Farsi as the registrant is that Farsi was the first Persian convert to Islam, and is credited for transcribing much of the Q’uran. However, I cannot find a live person by that name anywhere in Wisconsin, though there are plenty of buildings named after him. Conclusion? Alias.)
  • In addition to selling discount mats, writing weight-lifting, fat-burning and basketball drills articles, and plumbing in Chicago, Faisal, at 24, is also a self-proclaimed e-commerce expert, an online scam network marketer, and a real estate tycoon with an eye toward importing “high-volume quantities”, specifically wrist watches. Capital Renovations is a registered LLC in the state of Wisconsin. He is a very busy young man.

  • Sajid Nasir owns several junk info websites:

Basketball Drills and Plays. This site was registered to Sajid, but changed today to reflect a new registrant: Furqan Hanif in Springfield, IL. But they neglected to change to contact phone number - it’s still the same. Faisal is also connected to this website.

My Kitchen Backsplash. This article links him to this website, though the WhoIs record was modified today as well. This and this also link Faisal Khetani to Sajid’s website.

Yoga-Advice. Though the WhoIs registry was changed, this yoga registry, listing Sajid’s website and home address, was not.

  • Ahmed Bushra, 24, also owns several bogus websites:

Quality Discount Scooters. Shares a Paypal account with Discount-Mats.

    Jewelry Spot.

  • Conclusion

It is my considered opinion that the intricate network of websites I listed is a facade - a front, if you will - for something other than selling “bargain supplies.” Anyone looking at the websites can see that they are not legitimate businesses. I think the anomalies I’ve summarized here, and the Muslims involved, require further investigation.

Furthermore, the Khetani family is highly qualified in some very technical and unusual fields, with an extraordinary amount of access to sensitive information. It would be worth checking to see what their affiliations are, if their mosque is radicalized, and who their contacts are.

This network of Muslim individuals was brought to public attention because of one Muslim’s outrageous response to a simple inquiry by one of our soldiers. It would be the height of irony if nefarious purposes were exposed because he couldn’t refrain from announcing his anti-American sentiments to an American soldier.

So I’m asking…is all this just about some smarmy internet scam artists? Or it this about a covert communication network between jihadis, money laundering, drug or arms smuggling, or a home-grown terror cell? I want to know. I’m not wrong for asking, but if my conclusions are wrong, then I’ll think about apologizing, right after Faisal Khetani sincerely apologizes to SGT Jason Hess and the fine troops of the 1st Cavalry Division.

    Freedom in Atlanta

Feel free to ignore the racist headline and instead focus on what the article actually talks about. Then watch the reaction of the socialist left in Atlanta.

There is a county that's absolutely enormous. It has almost a million people. Many of the people in the county feel that the county government is not responsive to them, so they want to split the county into two counties where EVERYONE gets more responsive government.

As it always happens everywhere in the world, however, like people live near one another. So if this split manages to happen, one county will have people who work and earn money, while one county will have a lot of lazy bastards that don't work. That's why there's complaining. But it's interesting to see the complaints of those in the lazy section, freely admitting that they are living off the back of those in the rich section.

If you take that money out of their coffers, human services will suffer greatly

In other words, "We won't have the cash from the workers who are working in the north to give away to these lazy bums in the south who aren't working. What are these poor bums supposed to do, work themselves?"
In addition, some warn that a breakup of Fulton could harm Atlanta's international reputation as a progressive city and hurt its appeal as a business, entertainment and convention destination.

Translation: "We won't have all that free cash from those working people to spend on businesses, entertainment, and conventions that are incapable of actually generating money. Instead, we will only have businesses, entertainment, and events that people will actually pay to see instead of the ones we liberals want to force everyone to support.
Critics of a split also worry about the future of Grady Memorial Hospital and the Atlanta area's MARTA commuter-rail system _ both of which have contracts with the county.

Translation: "All that money from the north is the only thing that allows us to run the MARTA system so that our bums can continue to have free transportation so they can continue to move around and not work. If that money leaves the county, our unemployed bums would be unable to ride the free trains around to see their unemployed friends."

Folks, despite what you see and read, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with race. Instead, this is about socialism. This about about the lazy, good-for-nothing moochers complaining because their cash cow is threatening to take their hard work and labor and leave the moochers to fend for themselves. The only bad news is that this is highly likely to not pass because of whiny Democrats in the state house.

    Charlotte Finally Surrenders

Months ago, a judge ruled on the red light cameras and speed cameras that various areas of the state of North Carolina had put into place to generate extra revenue. Sure, they claimed that they were to save lives, but that was a total lie, as illustrated by the facts.

The red light cameras decreased one type of accident, but increased another. And the speed cameras were actually unsafe because they never actually caused anyone who was speeding to slow down one bit. If someone was driving unsafely, they were observed by the police, but not stopped.

The judge didn't rule on the constitutionality of the cameras. Instead, he dodged that one with a ruling the followed other North Carolina laws (yes, some people do follow the law in North Carolina, despite the actions of the members of the General Assembly). That law stated that 90% of the "proceeds" from the cameras was absolutely required to go to the school system.

Of course, in order for the cameras to be profitable to the city, they had to retain a large percent of the cash from the citations. And 10% just simply wasn't enough. So despite all their claims about how many lives these were saving, the city has decided to shut the system down. Using the city's logic, I wonder how many people will die now because they stopped the cameras.

Even funnier (mainly because I don't live in Charlotte) is that the city now has to pay the company that was also earning money from the cameras close to half a million dollars for ending their contract early. Oh, and they have to cough up $4.6 million for the schools.

So where will they get the $4.6 million? Hold on to your wallet, Charlotte, taxes WILL go up again. Maybe not this year, because it's an election year, but certainly for next year. Where did that $4.6 million go? Some was given to the company who ran the cameras, some went to the city, which they immediately spent on things like uptown arenas and theaters.

Then again, knowing how devious the city council can be, maybe this was their plan for extra cash for wasting all along. After all, as Democrats in Charlotte like to say, "That's what we do, tax and spend. What else should we do?"

    Guard the Borders!

Dirty Texas Politics Taint Border Patrol Agents' Trial

I have to give huge kudos to Shawn Christopher Phillips, of the Wry & Coy Report, for compiling some of the least known and most misreported facts surrounding the case of the two Border Patrol Agents prosecuted for shooting a drug smuggler. Shawn has raised some very troubling questions surrounding the case - questions worth asking and investigating. He has also connected the dots in a way that the media has been unable (or unwilling) to do.

Shawn's original research material can be found at www.patgray.com here and here. I have supplemented the accounts with further information from my own research and from Pat Gray's radio show on KSEV, since he and his co-host, Edd Hendee have been investigating the anomalies surrounding this very muddled case.

I have taken the liberty of condensing Shawn's material from several posts to place it into a rough timeline of events as they occurred. As well, I wanted to include information about some of the major players in this case, from the drug smuggler himself all the way up to U.S. Congressmen and Senators.

The central perpetrator in this travesty of justice is the U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, who has old boy Texas connections from the judge overseeing the case all the way up to President George W. Bush. These connections, though not openly disclosed, have greatly impacted the case, as highly placed government officials look the other way while testimonies, evidence, and statements are manipulated behind the scenes.

    By Shawn Christopher Phillips

Edited and Supplemented by Heidi Thiess for syndication by the Guard the Borders Coalition.

Did US Border Patrol Agents, Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos actually shoot Mexican national, career drug smuggler, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila?

That is what we have been told, that's what has been reported, that is what the trial was about, and that is what Compean and Ramos are in federal prison for right now.

    Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila... drug smuggler

Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila is a Mexican national, career drug smuggler. On February 17th, 2005, U.S. Border Patrol Agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos shot Aldrete-Davila once in the buttocks saying that they thought the suspect was armed. This claim has been supported by two of Aldrete-Davila's family members, who asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation. They stated that Aldrete-Davila had been dealing drugs since age 14 and, according to one, he “wouldn't move drugs unless he had a gun on him.”

U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton responded, “There's this impression that all these dopers carry guns,” but mules - smugglers such as Aldrete-Davila - "almost never carry guns," because federal law "tacks on five years to their sentence. In this one statement, US Attorney Johnny Sutton admits to knowing that Aldrete-Davila is “doper” and a “[drug] mule smuggler”.

An Office of Inspector General memorandum contradicts US Attorney Sutton's claim that Ramos and Compean reported Aldrete-Davila was unarmed.

The memorandum of activity was written April 4th, 2005, by Christopher Sanchez, the OIG investigator who questioned Compean about the Feb. 17, 2005, shooting.

    Christopher Sanchez memo notes:

Compean said that Aldrete-Davila continued to look back over his shoulder towards Compean as Aldrete-Davila ran away from him. Compean said that he began to shoot at Aldrete-Davila because of the shiny object he thought he saw in Aldrete-Davila's hand and because Aldrete-Davila continued to look back towards his direction. Compean explained that he thought the shiny object might be a gun and that Aldrete-Davila was going to shoot at him because he kept looking back at him.

Osvaldo [Aldrete-Davila] had told [Border Patrol agent] Rene Sanchez that his friends had told him they should put together a hunting party and go shoot some BP [Border Patrol] agents in revenge for them shooting Osvaldo. Osvaldo advised Rene Sanchez that he told his friends he was not interested in going after the BP agents and getting in more trouble.

According to the memo, Aldrete-Davila told investigators the agents shot him in the buttocks when he was trying to enter the country illegally from Mexico.

But according to Aldrete-Davila's later testimony and that of the agents, he was shot after trying to evade the agents upon his re-entry into Mexico.

The memo never was disclosed to the jury.

Shots rang out, changing, in Ramos’ mind, the danger level of the chase. Ramos would later testify that “... at some point during the time where I'm crossing the canal, I hear shots being fired. Later, I see Compean on the ground, but I keep running after the smuggler.” Through the thick dust Ramos saw Aldrete-Davila, who was turning to face him. Ramos testified that he saw what appeared to be a nickel-plated gun in his hand.

Believing his life was in danger, he fired. “I shot,” Ramos continued. “But I didn't think he was hit because he kept running into the brush and disappeared. Later we all watched as he jumped into a van [on the other side of the border] waiting for him. He seemed fine. It didn't look like he had been hit at all.”

Was Aldrete-Davila shot that day by a U.S. Border Patrol agent?

    US-Mexico Sanchez Connections

US Border Patrol Agent, Rene Sanchez

Upon returning to Mexico, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila complained of his misfortunes to his mother, who contacted the mother-in-law of Border Patrol agent Rene Sanchez in Wilcox, AZ. According to a document, Rene Sanchez stated “that Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila's mother, Marcadia Aldrete-Davila, contacted Rene Sanchez's mother-in-law, Gregoria Toquinto, and advised her about the BP agents shooting Aldrete-Davila. Toquinto told her son-in-law, Rene Sanchez, of the incident, and he spoke to Osvaldo via a telephone call.”

Why would a Mexican drug smuggler's mother call the mother-in-law of a US Border Patrol agent, Rene Sanchez, and tell her that her son was shot by the Border Patrol after dumping a million dollars worth of marijuana?

Agent Rene Sanchez repeatedly called the Fabens Border Patrol Station requesting information to see if there were any seizures or shootings. However, according to the Department of Homeland Security in a memorandum of activity document, Rene Sanchez stated that he queried the Border Patrol Tracking System (BPETS) and found that the Fabens Border Patrol Station seized a load of marijuana on February 17, 2005.

(Note: Agent Rene Sanchez also assisted with securing an attorney for Aldrete-Davila to sue Agents Compean and Ramos in a civil case.)

Office of Inspector General Agent, Christopher Sanchez

Agent Christopher Sanchez served as an ICE agent in Arizona before lateraling over to OIG.

In March 2005, Rene Sanchez calls the Office of Inspector General at DHS and speaks to Agent Christopher Sanchez who was a four-month trainee in OIG. Agent Christopher Sanchez began investigating the case, and eventually went to Mexico to bring Aldrete-Davila back to El Paso. The chain of evidence, including custody gets really murky at this point and Compean and Ramos are subsequently arrested, charged, and arraigned within days.

When Compean and Ramos were arrested, protocol would dictate that their supervisors would have called them in to the office where they would have peacefully surrendered to the FBI or U.S. Marshals. Instead, the Department of Homeland Security staged a simultaneous SWAT assault on the Compean and Ramos homes. You know... the type of arrest scene one would expect to see when arresting a criminal illegal alien drug smuggler from Mexico with a million dollars worth of marijuana hidden in his house.

Was there an ulterior motive in using a SWAT team to arrest Compean and Ramos? Were they sending a message to other Border Patrol agents and their families? Will Border Patrol agents now think twice before doing their jobs on the border?

(W&C Report wonders about the damage done.)

Meanwhile, Aldrete-Davila was given full immunity to testify against US Border Patrol Agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos. How did this happen? U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton's office would have us believe that his office was so convinced with the integrity and credibility of Aldrete-Davila, that Sutton thought the third party allegation of an illegal alien drug smuggler who was forced to leave 743 pounds of marijuana in a deserted van on the levee was more than enough to prosecute two US Border Patrol Agents – Compean and Ramos.

Almost a month after the alleged shooting, Agent Rene SanchezÂ’ mother in-law, Gregoria Toquinto, drove Aldrete-Davila to the William Beaumont Army Medical Center, where he had a fragment of a bullet removed, at taxpayer expense.

How badly could he have been shot, if that much time passed before he required “treatment”? How could anyone even be sure he was shot on February 17th by the Border Patrol agents? He did, after all, run and jump into a waiting get-away van! And where is that bullet fragment? Did it get lost in that murky chain of evidence? That fragment could be crucial evidence in proving whether it came from Compean or Ramos’ guns. Was it brought up in court? We don’t know because the court has failed to complete the court transcripts.

It would be important to the case to know how the drug smuggler's mother knew the mother-in-law of a Border Patrol agent, and whether or not she or her son-in-law had any personal ties to the drug runner. You would think that both the Border Patrol and the DEA would have wanted to tap their telephones to see who Aldrete-Davila and Sanchez were talking to on both sides of the border.

(Note: During the trial, the connection between Rene Sanchez and Aldrete-Davila confused the Ramos family, and "we questioned how an agent from Arizona would know or want to defend a drug smuggler from Mexico," said Monica Ramos.)

Furthermore, Aldrete-Davila was given a green card AND a car, at American taxpayer expense, so that he could drive back and forth between Mexico. Aldrete-Davila later broke his immunity agreement in October 2005, when officers say he attempted to smuggle 1,000 pounds of marijuana into America, while driving this tax-payer funded vehicle! U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton further extended immunity to this additional felony and sealed the indictment from jurors. Aldrete-Davila’s arrest record was expunged, and a gag order was issued. The jury was not informed of the second smuggling arrest, and Sutton issued a public statement that Aldrete-Davila was “never arrested” on drug charges.

    U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton

Recent Statements made by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton -

I would much prefer to be here discussing the prosecution of the drug dealer, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, and how we put him in prison for 20 years.

(Note: Sutton calls Aldrete-Davila a drug dealer.)

But, unfortunately, we had no case against him, because there was no evidence tying him to that van.

(Note: Sutton says there was NO EVIDENCE tying Aldrete-Davila to the van containing the marijuana.)

We would not even know about him had he not come and the investigators for Homeland Security been able to find him through his family. The way we found him is that he came forward and was in Mexico with a lawyer. So, the only way to get him to testify was to give him immunity from being prosecuted. He wasn't going to agree to come to the United States, he wasn't going to agree to talk, unless he had some kind of immunity from being prosecuted for that load.

(Note: Sutton thought this was a good deal.)

Again, we have to have evidence that we can prove in court. And we don't have any evidence.

    (Note: Sutton referring to Aldrete-Davila.)

But the thing is that he refuses to talk. He wouldn't come to America. He refuses to talk. We had to persuade, like we do all the time in court, we have to persuade witnesses to come to court to testify. There are all kinds of witnesses who come forward in court all the time to testify in court because they're persuaded.

(Note: Sutton leading or coaching the witness?)

    I can't tell you what's inside Aldrete-Davila's head.

(Note: Aldrete-Davila has 5-million reasons to lie.)

I mean, there are many times we persuade witnesses to come forward to testify in court. But, remember, he didn't make an admission. He refused to make an admission until his lawyer had an agreement for use immunity. He wouldn't come to the United States and we couldn't extradite him because, number one, we didn't have any evidence against him, and, number two, we didn't have a case.

It's one of those situations where we gave up very little by giving him use immunity in this case, because we couldn't prove a case against him. He did not make admissions until we agreed to give him immunity for what he was saying.

(Note: Sutton gave up very little? Only Compean and Ramos.)

Unfortunately, the case against Aldrete-Davila was not prosecutable because of these agents. There was no way to link Aldrete-Davila with that load of marijuana.

    (Note: Sutton contradicts himself.)

    Apr. 13, 2005, from a statement by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton's office:

According to the criminal complaint, on or about February 17, 2005, a Mexican National attempting to flee back into Mexico near Fabens, Texas, was shot at by the defendants.

This case is being investigated by the office of Inspector General - Department of Homeland Security.

Aug. 11, 2006, from statement US Attorney Johnny Sutton's office:

“At the initiation of their investigation, the DHS Office of Inspector General contacted Aldrete-Davila who was at the time in Mexico. Aldrete-Davila was at first reluctant to cooperate with the investigation because he feared that should he return to the United States, he could be prosecuted for the offenses committed in relation to the load of marijuana he was driving on February 17, 2005. In order to secure his cooperation and appearance at trial in the United States, this office agreed that in return for his truthful testimony he would not be prosecuted for the February 17, 2005 offenses. The agreement does not immunize any other conduct.”

Later, Sutton issues a fact sheet that makes it sound like the Aldrete-Davila couldnÂ’t possibly be tied to the van of marijuana he was driving - this despite the fact that multiple Border Patrol agents saw him driving the van. No fingerprints? Not even a hair or an eyelash? Doubtful.

On January 17th, 2007, from the misnomered "fact sheet" issued by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton's office:

Myth: THE GOVERNMENT LET A DRUG SMUGGLER GO FREE

Reality: My office would have much preferred to see Aldrete convicted and sent to prison for his crimes. We are in the business of putting guys like Aldrete behind bars. In fact, this office leads the nation in the number of drug smuggling cases we prosecute. Because the agents could not identify him, found no fingerprints, could not tie him to the van and did not apprehend him after shooting him, the case against Aldrete could not be proven.

How is this a MYTH? By SuttonÂ’s own admission, Aldrete-Davila is a drug smuggler, and he is free (though two of our own law enforcement officers are now in federal prison)! It is NOT a myth, it is fact. SuttonÂ’s spin on it doesnÂ’t make it less factual!

On September 19th, 2006, in a meeting with various Congressmen who were looking into the case, SuttonÂ’s office told the Congressmen (including Ted Poe, John Culberson, Dana Rohrbacher, and others) that Compean and Ramos had made some incriminating admissions and signed statements concerning their own guilt. The Congressmen requested to see those signed statements, and SuttonÂ’s office agreed to produce them immediately. They have failed to do so after repeated demands from the CongressmenÂ’s offices, and four months later, the Congressmen are now doubtful that such statements exist. Did SuttonÂ’s office knowingly LIE to U.S. Congressmen?

It is interesting to note that Johnny Sutton has also aggressively prosecuted a SheriffÂ’s deputy in Rock Springs, Texas, for allegedly violating the civil rights of illegal aliens he had apprehended. The 23 year old sheriffÂ’s deputy, Deputy Hernandez, had a sterling record, and the Edward County sheriff said Deputy Hernandez was doing exactly what he was told to do. How did the deputy violate the civil rights of the illegal aliens he was trying to apprehend? He shot out the tires of their vehicle when they tried to run over him. One of the bullets struck an illegal alien in the back of the vehicle (he was not killed). Johnny Sutton recommended that the deputy be held without bond. He is sitting in the Del Rio jail today, without bond, and awaiting sentencing.

    US Assistant Attorney, Debra Kanof

U.S. Assistant Attorney, Debra Kanof bristled when asked about the Rene Sanchez/Aldrete-Davila connection.

“It's an unconscionable accusation that Sanchez is associated with a drug dealer,” she said. “Most BP agents who are Hispanic have family from Mexico. He was born in the U.S. and raised in Mexico and came back to do high school and later became an agent.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Kanof claimed out that pursuing suspects is not part of the Border Patrol's job. "Agents are not allowed to pursue," she said. "In order to exceed the speed limit, you have to get supervisor approval, and they did not." Additionally, in the words of Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Kanof, “It is a violation of Border Patrol regulations to go after someone who is fleeing.”

    That's right.

Assistant US Attorney Debra Kanof decreed that if an illegal immigrant, even a drug kingpin or terrorist, flees from a Border Patrol agent, regulations demand that he not further pursue or apprehend the fugitive. US Border Patrol Agents widely disregard this because their own edicts say things like “detouring illegal entries through improved enforcement” and “apprehending and detouring smugglers of humans, drugs and other contraband.”

    Judge Kathleen Cardone

Judge Kathleen Cardone - a part-time fitness instructor - was nominated by President George W. Bush on May 1, 2003, to a newly created seat, and was sponsored by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Judge Cardone was confirmed by the Senate on July 28, 2003, and received commission on July 29, 2003. Her prior experience had been as a family court judge.

Several of the jurors came forward, a few days before the sentencing of Compean and Ramos in October, to say they had been holdouts against a guilty verdict and only voted with the majority when other jurors told them the judge wouldn't allow a hung jury. They expressed they felt severely pressured.

Judge Cardone denied the motion for a new trial.

Agents Compean and Ramos had filed a motion with the court to remain free on bond while they appealed their case. Despite the fact that the two agents were not deemed a flight risk, Judge Cardone, U. S. District Court, Western District of Texas denied the motion, ordered them to surrender to the US Marshall, and thus, ordered the agents to begin serving their sentences.

    US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

As governor, George W Bush brought Alberto Gonzales into his administration in 1994 as a senior adviser to the governor, chief elections officer, and the governor's lead liaison on Mexican and border issues. Gonzales later became White House Counsel in 2000, when George Bush became President, and was eventually nominated by Bush for Attorney General of the United States. On November 24, 2004, Gonzales, got the backing of the National Council of La Raza:

The NCLR promotes driver's licenses for illegal aliens, no immigration law enforcement by local and state police and amnesty programs broader than the administration's proposal.

La Raza supports legislation such as the Civil Liberties Restoration Act, which would roll back policies adopted after Sept. 11 designed to protect national security. It supports the "DREAM Act," which would mandate states to offer in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens” thus, providing them with benefits not available to U.S. citizens from other states.

The group opposes the “Clear Law Enforcement for Criminal Alien Removal Act of 2003” and the “Homeland Security Enhancement Act” would give state and local police officers the authority to enforce federal immigration laws.

The group also supports legislation to ensure illegal immigrants' ability to obtain driver's licenses.

On March 29th, 2006, Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales named U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton to serve as chair for the Attorney General's Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys. (The Advisory Committee plays a vital role in furthering the Department's law enforcement efforts and represents the voice of the United States Attorneys in making Department policy.) Sutton has been a member of the Advisory Committee since 2002.

Johnny Sutton also serves on the Advisory Committee's Border and Immigration Law Enforcement Subcommittee.

    Texas Senator John Cornyn

John Cornyn refused to sign a petition presented by Texas Congressman Ted Poe requesting that the Border Patrol agents be released on bond pending their appeal. He has also refused to look at the case further.

Pat Gray, of KSEV radio, called Senator John CornynÂ’s office in D.C. to clarify his perspective on the Border Patrol case

He's not taking a stand. He's not taking ANY stand. "As a former Supreme Court Justice, Senator Cornyn believes in the justice system...these agents had their day in court, and if errors were made, they should come out in the appeals process", said Cornyn staffer, Brian Walsh.

A staffer also told a caller that “the Senator had no power to affect anything in the case…he believes these men got what they deserved, and he will not get involved.” That is a quote verbatim from Senator Cornyn’s office.

While Johnny Sutton worked on George BushÂ’s team in Austin, during BushÂ’s governorship, John Cornyn was BushÂ’s Attorney General. As well, Cornyn appointed a John Sutton, dean of UT Law School (and of the age to be Johnny SuttonÂ’s father or uncle), to be a member of his D.C. transition team.

    Texas Congressman Michael McCaul

Michael McCaul refused to sign the petition presented by Congressman Ted Poe requesting that the Border Patrol agents be released on bond pending their appeal. As well, McCaul is Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Investigations and in that capacity he refused to subpoena documents concerning the case, and refused to hold a hearing to review the case, which was within his purview.

WhatÂ’s interesting is that Michael McCaul is a former employee of U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton.

    Full circleÂ…

U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton gave immunity to Mexican national, career criminal, drug smuggler, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila in order to pursue his prosecution of U.S. Border Patrol Agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos.

A criminal by definition does not follow or obey the law. Since he was given immunity from prosecution, Aldrete-Davila has violated his immunity deal at least twice.

Federal Judge Kathleen Cardone agreed with Sutton to not allow the jury to see or know about:

    ● The sealed indictment of Aldrete-Davila for his second arrest for drug smuggling in October 2005, after the incident when he was supposedly the victim of agents Ramos and Compean.

    ● Aldrete-Davila's agreeing to not withhold any information, then refusing to divulge the names of his fellow smugglers who picked him up at the border.

What does a cartel drug lord, with the audacity to put a bounty on the heads of the US Border Patrol Agents, do to a drug mule that loses his merchandise - $1 million dollars worth? Is it possible that within the weeks after Aldrete-Davila abandoned his load of drugs on the American side of the border, that he was shot by the drug cartel for whom he worked? Is it possible that he allowed himself to be “persuaded” by Johnny Sutton to be taken into protective custody in order to gain sanctuary from his employer? Alternatively, did this cartel drug lord have friends high enough in the Vicente Fox government to apply pressure on the Bush Administration?

Think about it: If Compean had shot Aldrete-Davila, a blood trail would have started at the levee.

If Ramos had shot Aldrete-Davila, a blood trail would have started closer to the border.

Based solely on Aldrete-Davila's testimony, with NO EVIDENCE or even a mention of a blood trail, both Compean and Ramos were convicted of shooting him. That's right. There was NO EVIDENCE of any blood to indicate which officer shot him.

It is just as likely that Aldrete-Davila was shot by the drug cartel boss in Mexico who would have been irate about losing over a million dollars in contraband.

    ● How much tax-payer money was used for this case?

    ● If there is no way to connect Aldrete-Davila to the van-load of marijuana, then why does Johnny Sutton keep tying him to the van-load of marijuana?

    ● If, as Sutton claimed in one statement, Aldrete-Davila was merely illegally entering the country, why was there a get-away van waiting for him on the Mexican side of the border?

    ● If there was no evidence – no blood, no fingerprints – from the scene, and no way to prove he was there, then why would Sutton accept every word of Aldrete-Davila?

    ● With the extremely lax chain of custody that occurred, with only a partial fragment of bullet removed, who shot Aldrete-Davila?

    ● Where is the bullet fragment?

    ● Where are the court transcripts? Repeated requests by Congressmen have been met with statement from the court that they are not yet transcribed. Why have they not been completed almost half a year after the conclusion of the case?

    ● Why was Aldrete-Davila given immunity - TWICE - plus a green card, and a car?

(W&C Report declares that Johnny Sutton's explanations smell like 3-day old mackerel left to rot in the sun.)

Edd Hendy, of KSEV radio, spoke with the Sheriff of El Paso County, the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the county, and asked if the proceedings were legitimate or should the case be objected to and reviewed. The Sheriff said, “These guys are getting screwed.”

Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila is now suing the US Border Patrol for $5-million for violating his civil rights, and Compean and Ramos are each doing over 12 years hard time.

It's rumored inside the beltway that President Bush will appoint Johnny Sutton to the federal bench before he leaves office on Jan. 20, 2009.

    Breaking News...

No word yet on whether President Bush contacted and spoke with the families of Compean and Ramos.

Congress is considering passing its own pardon powers.

    Read Rep. Michael McCaul's letter.

    Time for 2016?

Well, since Hillary has already won the presidential election for 2008, and she will assuredly win again in 2012, perhaps we should just accept her manifest destiny as our supreme ruler and focus on who she would want us to elect to replace her in 2012.

Will it be Chelsea? That would certainly be the logical progression of annointed rulers, wouldn't it? If Hillary tells us that's what we should do, then we should do it, since she is the smartest woman in the world. So perhaps 2016 and 2020 will be Chelsea. Maybe we should just wait until 2024 before we consider electing some that's, well, not a Clinton. I guess we'll have to wait for Hillary to tell us because we're so stupid.

And we have to pay attention to what the media says, because after all, not only is Hillary the smartest woman in the world, she's also the first female presidential candidate (and might be black like her husband, too).

Oh wait, that's not right, actually Victoria Claflin Woodhull, way back in 1870 was first. Well, surely, based on the media drooling, Hillary is the first since then, right? Well, not quite. There was Belva Ann Lockwood in 1884 AND 1888. Well, perhaps she's the first in recent history. Except for Margaret Chase Smith who ran for the Republican nomination in 1964.

So maybe she's the first Democrat woman to run. Oops. Don't forget Shirley Chisholm, Patsy Mink, and Bella Abzug who ALL ran on the Democrat ticket in 1972. And let's not forget Elizabeth Dole in 2000 and Carol Moseley Braun in 2004.

Look, a woman running for president is nothing new. But the news media is absolutely frothing at the mouth to be the first to be her lap dogs. Don't look for one serious question to be asked by anyone anywhere in the formerly mainstream media, because they absolutely love and adore this woman. The major networks and newspapers across the country are already heavily campaigning to get this woman elected. She's winning a poll already, and look for her to be ahead in every single poll conducted between now and 2020.

So, what's Clinton's biggest campaign issue? What's the most important thing to her that she wants to do as president? What's the most significant problem facing the country today that only she can fix?

Freedom. Specifically, there's too much of it, and she's going to stop that.

How? Well, in her announcement, she claims that "It's simply wrong" that people have the freedom to earn money. She says that "it's simply wrong" that people have the freedom to select their own doctors. She claims "it's simply wrong" that people have the freedom to pay others to fix their medical ailments -- and she's going to stop them.

Never mind Iran building nuclear weapons. Don't worry about those silly Chinese communists and their missiles. Forget that whole escalation in the middle east. The southern border? No, that's no big deal. And never mind those pesky terrorists. The most important issue facing America today, according to Clinton, is that a few people don't have health insurance.

My only hope is that over the next year the freedom-despising and America-hating Democrats that run the Congress will screw things up so badly that enough people will actually wake up and realize how deadly and destructive a Clinton presidency would be that they won't elect her in droves. And yes, I'm aware that it is only a tiny bit of hope.

    Passports Required to Enter U.S.

There's only one possible reaction to this announcement:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Are these people really so stupid? Are they honestly that utterly and totally ignorant of reality? Have they ever seen a border to this country? According to the article
Americans flying to Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean made sure to bring their passports Monday because of a new rule going into effect Tuesday that requires them to show one to get back into the country.

That's completely not true. If you're coming from Mexico, you need no papers, no passport, no documentation of any kind. If anyone who looks official or may be wearing a uniform asks you for anything, just run. They have a formal policy that states that they cannot chase you. In many cases, perhaps a fast walk will be enough to get them off your trail.

On the other hand, when you enter Mexico, you might want to be sure your papers are in order. While that country has no issues with exporting all their problem citizens and violent criminals, they will shoot you if you run from them.

So if you're traveling, do bring your passport and identification papers. You will need them to leave the United States and enter another country, but you absolutely do not need them to re-enter the US. After all, if any government official does chase you, you'll likely get a cash settlement from the government. After all, repeat violent drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila did.

    NC on Stem Cells

300,000 people in Western North Carolina have weighed in (subscription required - use BugMeNot) on their opinion on government spending: they don't want more of it.

Now while even those involved in this action -- Catholics -- are framing this as a personal choice and morality issue, it really isn't. Their entire reason for opposing the proposed law this year is because of the value they place upon life:

There's never any justifiable reason to take a human life, even if it is in the very (early) stages of human life, because the embryo has a genetic makeup distinct from the mother, distinct from the father ? a human being has come into existence

That's all fine and good. But if you oppose them and support the proposed law because you think that there should be research on stem cells, you're just wrong. The law isn't about allowing or banning ANYTHING. The law, if passed, does not make research on stem cells legal. If the law doesn't pass, it doesn't make research illegal. Instead, as with the national level, this is about government spending.

The law would actually increase GOVERNMENT SPENDING on research with stem cells. Keep in mind all the various diseases that have been eliminated from stem cell research:

And keep in mind, NO ONE is stopping ANYONE from actually doing this research. If you want to research using stem cells, YOU GO AHEAD. There is no government or government agency that will stop you in any way, shape or form. Instead, what this is about is SPENDING MONEY. And it's MY money that you're spending if you support this bill.

Say what you want about the actual research, but at least be honest when you talk about supporting the bill. If you support this bill, you support increased spending by government, plain and simple.

    Pet Rules

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - snout height.

    Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate of food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years --canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets

    1. They live here. You don't.
    2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
    3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.

Remember: Dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

    1. Eat less
    2. Don't ask for money all the time
    3. Are easier to train
    4. Usually come when called
    5. Never drive your car
    6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
    7. Don't smoke or drink
    8. Don't worry about having to buy the latest fashions
    9. Don't wear your clothes
    10. Don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and
    11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

    Vote Hook

In case you weren't aware, the VA Mortgage Center is sponsoring a contest to determine the best mil-blogger based on votes by the public. And they're offering a $5,000 prize! There's a number of GREAT blogs on that list. I read a few of them quite often. But one of them got a vote request to me, so I'm going to vote for him. Asking for a vote is half the battle. Here's the request:

I'm 48 yards from the end zone with six seconds left on the clock and down by just one score...

As some of you know, Sgt Hook has been nominated for Best Milblog over at VA Mortgage Center Blog and the voting has been tight. A big thank you to those who have helped keep me afloat this far, but I think it's time to throw my "Hail Mary" pass in hopes of moving into the lead with just 24 hours left in the voting.

For those who don't know, should I win, I plan on using the prize money to finance a trip to Washington D.C. in May for the annual Milblog Conference, with any leftovers going to the Fisher House.

As I throw this long ball, I'm asking you to consider voting for Sgt Hook and asking everyone you know on the planet to do the same. Thank you for that consideration in advance, and if I don't score that touchdown, I hope to see you all around Sgt Hook in the future.

    VOTE HERE.

    Thanks again,
    Sgt Hook

Won't you go give him a vote? I did.
