An actual conversation this morning between the Ogre and the toothless gas station attendant:
TW (Toothless Wonder): That'll be $43.72.
Ogre (while handing credit card): Whew, that's quite a bit, huh?
TW (while taking said credit card): You're using the gold card, right?
Ogre: Not much longer with prices like these!
TW: It's Bush's fault.
Ogre:
TW: You know, if we'd just get out of there, it would be back to normal.
Ogre:
TW: My Mom's gas prices never went down -- we'll be up to $2.75 before Friday.
Ogre: How... Did you say this is Bush's fault?
TW: Oh yes, that whole mess is just about oil -- you know, the rich get richer, we poor get poorer.
Ogre:
TW: I think we'll be over $3.00 real soon.
Ogre: If it's about oil then why...
TW: Oh, I don't know, I don't keep up with all that stuff.
Ogre:
TW: Thank you, come again.
Ogre:
I can only hope that such an incredibly ignorant fool that either refuses to learn or is incapable of learning doesn't actually have the brainpower to figure out how to vote.

I have noticed an up-tick in the "bush is responsible for gas prices" meme as of late on the lefty blogs and from lefties on chat boards. But not one can tell us exactly why it is Bush's fault, nor can they offer any solution, even a minor, or insane one. Of course, Afghanistan was all about oil, too.
However, I do know for a fact that we are taking the Iraqi oil, shipping it to Texas, moving it to Area 51, and selling it to the aliens. In exchange, the aliens are screwing with lefty brains. They were doing the anal probe thing, but the lefties like it, so it was no fun for the aliens.

sounds like a conversation I had with a non-toothless, supposedly intelligent person just yesterday -- but then again, she blames GW for the pimples on her butt though too

My question, and it doesn't really do much to ask it (see response in original post), is "If we went to war for oil, why in the heck does it cost MORE?"
If it's just because Bush wants the money for his buddies, why did we go to war? They could have just raised the damn prices without a war!
But there's no way for these people to see reality. They'd deny their own mother if it furthered their Bush-hating goals.

Now hold on, Jo -- that pimple thing might have some merit. I've heard there's classified reports that Bush DID order the CIA and FBI to start injecting people with drugs at night to get them addicted to drugs so Bush can keep the contras and other drug suppliers with products so they can siphon off some cash of the illegal drug trade to corporations in Colorado that Cheney owns and operates under a pseudonym...

I agree -- if we'd just steal their damn oil we can get gas prices under $2 again!

It's not Bush's fault.
It's Halburton's fault.
Geez, I wish they would blame the right people.

I thought that company merged into Bushaliburton.

Do the (cough) astounding mental faculties of a "No blood for Oil - Bush did it" 'bat surprise you?

And taking Venezuela over would have several benefits ... one more socialist out of the way, at the very least.

I was kind of surprised she knew which way to insert the credit card into the scanner...but I presume there was a picture to guide her.

These morons piss me off the most!
You can like/dislike our president. You can agree/disagree with the war. But get your fricken facts straight!
That's why I don't talk a lot of politics because I'm too lazy to get off my ass and research the stuff and get all my ducks in a row. I'm smart enough to keep my mouth shut and not complain unless I feel like doing the work necessary to give me the right to complain!

Oh, they "don't keep up with all that stuff."
This type of person is why CNN, other nightly news teams, and ultra-liberal newspapers can stay in business -- just sit back and accept everything that you're told as truth.
