Candidates forced to pay for Opposition's elections!

Yes, really. In North Carolina, if you would like to run for election to be a judge, you, too, might be forced to pay to fund your opponent's election campaign. Oh, and if you refuse to pay? The North Carolina Bar Association will revoke your license and then you will be ineligible to run for office.

This is just another perverted side effect of the so-called "public financing laws" that are nothing but an absolute crushing of freedom of speech. Folks, money DOES equal free speech, even if you don't want it to. When you FORCE someone to pay for someone else's election, you ARE crushing freedom of speech.

So far, it appears the North Carolina State Bar Association is completely in support of the law that requires lawyers to fund their opposition's election campaigns. The courts have yet to weigh in, and they don't particularly want to. Then again, it will be literally impossible to find an impartial judge to rule in the case, because those very same judges who could rule would ALREADY BE RECIPIENTS of the extortion fees.

Freedom of Speech is gone in North Carolina. Too bad we don't have a law that protects freedom of speech.
