But don't worry, government will do it's job here. As pointed out in the article, the mayor of Charlotte went to Raleigh in February (on a "road trip") to ask for more money. No, they didn't take any of the money for the choo-choo away, they just asked for more. $1 billion for the train, but $0 for law enforcement. That's the Charlotte way. And don't you DARE question them. If you do, you're a "naysayer" and just trying to cause trouble -- because that 3.5% increase in crime wasn't from people causing trouble, somehow.
Yes, Charlotte government has it's priorities in order:
#1: Build a train set.
#2: Spend more money on stuff.
#3: Make sure the train gets built.
#4: Raise fees and house values so you can get more money and claim you're not raising taxes.
#5: Make sure the train set looks nice, no matter what it costs.
#4,390: If the people complain a LOT, ask Raleigh to handle the crime issues because government has more important things to do.
