Well, that's about it. Just read the headline here. Of course, for anyone who has actually READ the Charlotte Observer, that's not really news now, is it? The Charlotte Observer seriously is very socialist. They support every socialist idea that's ever existed.

In this case, they support the increase in gas tax to the 6th highest gas tax rate in the nation. Why? Because they like government spending money and not people. Seriously. They have never, to my knowledge, ever NOT supported any tax increase.

Worse, they lie about it constantly. In the article, they claim that the increased gas tax will be used to repair roads. That's an outright lie. It will not. The majority of funds raised by the gas tax increase (some $74 million) will go into the general fund.

No, it doesn't matter to the Democrat-controlled legislature that the law states that the taxes from gas will be used for road construction -- they vote every year to take tens of millions of tax dollars from gas taxes and toss them in the general fund for things like personal checking accounts for legislatures.

Yes, the Democrat-led North Carolina General Assembly really does stink. And the Charlotte Observer loves them for it.
