Cherrix Freed (Sort of)

A couple weeks ago I mentioned the story of government intrusion into personal lives when the Virginia Department of Social Services (or DPS, whatever the morons call it) demanded that a person take radiation treatment or he and his family would be locked up in jail (for his own good, of course). The family decided to fight and appear to have partially beaten the horrible government system.

The family and the enemy scum spineless, weak-kneed power-hungry bureaucrats government agency reached a "consent decree" to avoid a hearing. According to news reports, the boy will see an oncologist who is "interested in alternative treatments" -- so they will not be forced to receive deadly radiation therapy against their will.

However, they are also required to "provide the court updates" on his medical condition every 3 months. Yes, that's what we need to cram the damn overcrowded court system with -- updates on a person's medical treatments. There's a great use for tax money, isn't it? And there's no word what will happen if the state-approved oncologist suggests radiation treatment and the state subject (read: peon) refuses.

Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
