The EIC is equivalent to Milton Friedman's idea of the "Negative Income Tax." But, of course, Milton wanted to rid the government of the welfare state by encourage those to work to claim the "Negative Income Tax." After following your blog for the past year, I have a feeling the politburo of NC will try to expand both ideas. Milton's ideas work, but only if you incorporate the idea with the free market as your goal.

They will use taxpayer money to buy votes at any time in any place. And they will work hard to ensure that freedom is destroyed anywhere they can find it.
