FL says streets better than houses for living

In the minds of the government of Florida, it is better for you to have no home and to live in the gutters and back alleys of the streets than to dare exist in a building that doesn't have smoke detectors. I only wish I could make up such horrible abuses of government.

In Lake Worth, FL, government officials came after dark (I'm sure they were paid overtime or double time for working during such hours) and forcibly evicted as many as 100 residents who were living in "dangerous" conditions. So what were those dangerous conditions that were worse than living in the gutters?

No rental license. Broken smoke alarms. Too many people (according to the government) in a space.

So now, thanks to government efficiency, between 100 and 125 people are literally living in the street. Yes, that's SO much better than having a broken smoke alarm.

Hey government -- try that in my house. You can evict my dead body because I ain't leaving. And know what? My smoke alarm battery is dead, too.

1 I still can't find the words to show my disgust at this. I have wanted to post on it and everytime I start to write it comes out all jumbled up because of my anger. 30 Frick'n minutes to get your belongings and get out. 30 minutes!!! errrrrrrr...

2 I do notice they often pick the poor, immigrants, and those on the edge of the law to harass this way instead of those who are likely to be armed. I guess it would be beyond the state to just show up with a few batteries for the smoke detectors -- they can provide free rent, but not batteries.

3 This is not the first time. It's just the first time its been such a LARGE quantity of people, that I can remember. Crap like this happens in Palm Beach County. Nobody cares. After the hurricane, an immigrant's abode was damaged. HRS or whatever they call themselves now TOOK THEIR CHILDREN FROM THEM until they found a better place to live. These people had NOTHING. People were trying to find them places, HRS would come in and say, "Not good enough". These were good hardworking people who LOVED their children. I think they got them back like 4 or 5 months after the fact. And a hotel was not good enough. The man's employer even found them a hotel room until something else came up and HRS said NO and kept their kids. Made me want to vomit.

4 I don't understand why more people don't get disgusted with this kind of government and literally rebel. It's coming, perhaps in our lifetime. People are simply not going to put up with this sort of senseless tyranny forever.
