Friday Feast #146
Here's how it works:
And now for this week's fare:
America's Democrats tell me that Socialism is "the best" -- much better than freedom. However, I disagree. I think that freedom is "the best."
Zero. Really. Whatever it is, it's really not that important. And I know that man is not in control, anyway. If you're stressed, relax -- I know how the story ends, and it's a good ending. Good WILL overcome evil in the end -- despite man's best efforts to the contrary.
What is this thing you call "cleanser?" Did you miss the picture up there at the top? Hello, I'm an OGRE!
Oh, that's too easy. Should I take the easy one? Why not? Something that only happens once in a blue moon is... that the moon turns blue. Oh come on, you HAD to see that one coming!
mmmMMMmm...dessert. I like desserts in the desert... like where I am now! I think it's been at least two or three weeks since we've seen ANY rain here at all. Yes, it is pretty much the end of the world. Global warming, drought conditions, etc. Much stuff is dying. Water limitations are just around the corner...well, for people, not for the cities or for any businesses, just for the average Joe who actually PAYS for their water...

Appetizer: Name something you think is “the best.”
America's Democrats tell me that Socialism is "the best" -- much better than freedom. However, I disagree. I think that freedom is "the best."
Soup: On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 highest), how stressed are you today?
Zero. Really. Whatever it is, it's really not that important. And I know that man is not in control, anyway. If you're stressed, relax -- I know how the story ends, and it's a good ending. Good WILL overcome evil in the end -- despite man's best efforts to the contrary.
Salad: What kind of cleanser do you use to wash your face?
What is this thing you call "cleanser?" Did you miss the picture up there at the top? Hello, I'm an OGRE!
Main Course: Tonight is a blue moon! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.”
Oh, that's too easy. Should I take the easy one? Why not? Something that only happens once in a blue moon is... that the moon turns blue. Oh come on, you HAD to see that one coming!
Dessert: When was the last time it rained where you live?

Given the lengths of the months in the Gregorian calendar, blue moons aren't all that rare. We get at least one per year, which makes a blue moon much less rare than total solar eclipses, weeks with two Tuesdays, airborne pigs, hen's teeth, or ice storms in Hell.
And it lasts awhile, so it's not a Poisson event or a Dirac delta, either!

A Dirac Delta? Yeah, that's a little too high-brow for us blogging folks...
How many times did your father or grandfather mention blue moons? My dad's favorite was a "Month of Sundays." For example, "How long is it going to take you to clean that room? You've been working on it for a month of Sundays!"
And he was of an older generation, so I knew better than to actually calculate how long a month of Sundays REALLY was and then tell him...
