GM's Flying Cars

So, who else wants to go out and buy GM's new flying cars? What? You hadn't heard about them? Well, I guess you didn't watch the first quarter of last night's Steelers-Dolphins game, because they showed that commercial no less than four times in 30 minutes.

The commercial shows a guy sitting in traffic and then changing the radio station. After he changes the station, his car starts floating. I'm thinking it's an ad for XM Radio or some such thing. Then other cars start floating and all the drivers look at one another in wonder and confusion. I'm still thinking it's a radio ad because although they're all GM cars, you can't tell it (I guess unless you're an expert on every car GM makes).

They finally tell you that GM has a special deal about some extended warranty or something. Next, a guy steps on the gas and his car starts flying -- and so does everyone else who has a GM car. They fly above and around everyone who doesn't have a GM car. I guess they're somehow trying to make you feel that if you buy an extended warranty, you'll feel like you're flying.

So, I want my flying GM car so I don't have to sit in traffic.

Commercials are SO not aimed at me.

1 Haven't seen it yet but sounds real stupid. I'm to technical to watch commericals because I end up disecting them and saying that unfeasible it is. GM just introduced 100,000 mile powertrain warranty on all 2007 vehicles.

2 Yeah, I saw something about a warranty. But I really couldn't make the connection between having a warranty and being able to fly and not sit in traffic.

3 Stupid commercial - yes, but what is the song that is playing? I really like it. Sounds like the Vines perhaps?

4 Flying cars? Heh, I don't watch football anyway, but I was up at the hospital waiting for my new great nephew's arrival that night. I'm still waiting for the wind up car, did I miss it?

5 It was a neat song, Todd. They (GM) seem to do music well these days. No idea who it was, though -- but it might have been on the screen. Erin, not yet -- it IS installed! But my camera is in the shop at the moment getting cleaned. And it spins!!!

6 Todd, the song is "Get what you need" - Jet

7 It spins! I knew you'd get the spinning one. Good lord man, you're an ogre! Do what any self-respecting ogre would do and go beatsomeone up and steal their camera! I've been waiting for that picture for like 4 months!

8 Oh, it's a riot! Any day now on that camera...the old "3-4 weeks" is about up.

9 Get What You Need? I don't know that one, but it sure does move in the commercial. Thanks, Gonzalez.

10 I even noticed that when they zoom out in the end, it shows the Chrysler Building (^_^). Ironic huh?

11 Oh, I missed that one! They HAD to do that on purpose.
