Hundreds Cheer Wasteful Spending
In Charlotte yesterday, hundreds of people, many at the request of their uptown employers,
cheered and supported spending less money on police and law enforcement, supported unlimited higher taxes, and celebrated potentially spending even more taxpayer money to directly benefit private business.
At issue here is giving over $100 million in taxpayer funds to a private business so that the private business may profit. The rally was held "uptown," where many businesses who also live off the taxpayer dole gave employees time off to show up and appear to celebrate and support this utterly irresponsible and wasteful spending.
In this case, it was support for SPENDING for the "Nascar Hall of Fame." As the left normally does, they confused support for Nascar with support for wasteful spending and higher taxes -- so they managed to convince a lot of people to support the Hall of Fame -- without realizing they were also supporting higher taxes to pay for the damn thing.
Once again, the left shows their desire to buy toys without having to actually work for them -- instead they take money from working people to build their own playgrounds. It's wrong, plain and simple. Government does not exist to buy things for private businesses, and it's wrong any time government gives money to a private business.
If this Hall of Fame is such a wonderful idea, and such a huge money-maker, why won't business build it for themselves and make money? Because it's NOT a money-maker, and government has become much to willing to just give away tax dollars to anyone who asks.
This is today's Democrat Party values: steal from the poor and give to the rich.

Figures. Everyone knows that those Hall of Fames barely scrape by. People go at first, but they are a novelty. That is why businesses who support Nascar and in fact, Nascar itself didn't want to pay to put it up by themselves. Why pay when you can open up a bidding war and let someone else pay? I know why they cheer though, they figure people will come to Charlotte and spend their money when they visit. I have little sympathy for the majority of the taxpayers of Charlotte though, they keep voting these idiots into office afterall!

That's just one of many reasons why I, and many others, are fleeing Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. The primary reason the area still isn't bankrupt is because new people continue to move in the area. The majority of people that live in Charlotte have not lived there for more than 5 years -- those who stay that long typically run away -- and the Charlotte politicians HATE us for it.

Aw, geez. The Google ads on this permalink page now link to "FREE" government grants. You know, sometimes I really want to just give up and stop working and let all you other working people support me through "FREE" grants.

ogre, the left could care less about nascar. Hate to be the one to break the news to you. To hear the right, that's exactly what't the matter with us. While decent Americans are watching the race, drinking budweiser and smoking meth, us liberals are reading the NewYork Times. Smell the coffee. Conservitives of the 21st century are all for pork. You took the liberal game plan and made it your own. Thank you for coming over to the dark side.

Clark, thank you for making my point for me!
Indeed, the left DOESN'T care about Nascar -- they only care about taking money from people and giving it to other people. They don't care if it's the Nascar Hall of Fame or the National Basket Weaving Speed-Championships. They just want taxpayer money to spend.
You can't even associate any of this particular spending with conservatives because there's no conservatives who are voting for this $100 million in wasteful spending -- the Charlotte City Council that votes for this is all liberal Democrats.
