In NC, Unions support Socialism
In North Carolina, the Socialist Unions who absolutely despise freedom are throwing around a lot of money
to elect Democrats, at least according to the news report. However, that's not quite accurate. You see, Democrats have already gerrymandered the state to the point where it is absolutely impossible (barring a major event, like a civil war) for the Republicans to win. Everyone knows that, even the unions. So why would they be spending lots of money?
Because they're trying to buy votes. They know the Democrats will win in the state, so they are currently making a push to buy things like higher minimum wages and easier access to stupid workers.
If we had freedom, these unions wouldn't be able to lobby and give tons of cash to the state. Know where that money comes from? The state. The majority of union members in North Carolina WORK FOR THE STATE. So they're taking their money and using it to lobby the state for more government and more money. In a free republic, the government would be the absolute SMALLEST employer in the state, not the largest. Instead, we have a self-propagating system where they work for the state and take their money to bribe politicians to give them more money so they can give more money to the politicians.
Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

If you ever have the oppty to read the history of unions you will see that many were based on Communist Worker Models, where the state or gov't is the great protector, so of course they would do anything to perpetuate their blotted existence. The socialist version we have in the US is just that a slightly more palatable one, but the Communist Party a few years back made it their mission to infiltrate members as "union organizers" so they can spew their propaganda and hold corporations hostage with their demands.
For an example of this we need only look at the city of Detroit. They have had the largest number of home foreclosures every quarter for the past 2 years. People have been unemployed for longer than that, unemployment benefits continue to be extended for their citizens, yet no one AND I MEAN NO ONE, is willling to honestly look at the root causes or bite the bullet.
Nope they rather wait for the city to go to hell and then get Federal pork and subsidies from our respective pockets. Don't get me started!
Tarnation! & I was in such a good mood too!

I apologize, Ogre. I really do...for my brother that is! He's a government union leader in AFSME in Iowa...if I remember the acronym correctly.
Donks knew years back that they had to keep control of the government, which is why they instituted government unions. It's most of the reason we have so many "leaks" from State, Defense, Justice, et al! We will be years undoing their damage...if we can hold on to the House and Senate, which I believe we will do!
Needless to say, my brother and I have some interesting conversations...when we talk, which is not often.

Dagney, you should ask him if he's aware that his dues are being used for the legal fees of an elected official that's already been found guilty of violating the law and is still under various different federal investigations for further violations of the law...of course, since he's union, I'm sure that doesn't matter...
Sorry, Michele. I'm just amazed that so many people can support unions because they don't know their purpose. The primary purpose of a union is to stifle competition -- which causes prices to rise for everyone! And Detriot is still there? Geez, I thought they'd have closed down by now. Oh, right, the federal government will prop them up forever.
