Juries Overruled in NC

Yesterday, Democrat governor of North Carolina signed a new law for the state, introduced and supported by the Democrats in the General Assembly that completes the total destruction of government by the people.

You see, in a free country, in a representative republic, in a country where the people have ALL the power and the government is limited -- a country that was formed in 1776 -- the people have the final say. One of the most basic checks that people have on government is the jury. Quite literally, if the jury disagrees with a law, they are absolutely free to ignore the law. That is how the people retain power in a government that truly is "by the people."

But the Democrats don't like that. I think there must be a plank in their platform that says something like, "We support any and all actions that give more power to government, especially if it costs more money, because people are stupid and we cannot trust them to do anything right." This new "first in the nation" law gives complete and total power to the government. A brand-new government agency, staffed by government and political appointees with now have the power to tell juries that they are full of crap.

I'm not sure why they're even letting us have juries any more. I guess it's like the gerrymandered voting system in North Carolina -- you might think you're having some effect, and that keeps the people from revolting.

1 I know it's been a long time since I've spouted off here, but I just have to laugh. We went over this a year ago. The liberals don't trust people to govern themselves. That's why they wan't big government to control us. I've been gone way too long.

2 And too many people don't really understand that one of the primary motivators of liberals & Democrats IS a total mistrust of people! Thanks for stopping by, I've been so busy at work, I haven't been out visiting anywhere near enough, too!
