Last Capitalist Sport Falls

It's finally happened. The last professional sport in the United States has finally given in and joined the government dole. That sport, of course, is Nascar, and the event is the Hall of Fame appearing in Charlotte, NC.

Each time I observe the events of the world and this country, I have thoughts of the Novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. If you have never read this book, you absolutely should. You cannot honestly understand what is going on in this country without reading that book. It doesn't matter how much you dislike reading, get this book and read it.

What is really scary is how accurate the predictions made in that book were -- and as we, in real life, are only partway through the book, it makes the future look even scarier.

Nascar was the last bastion of professional sports capitalism. They paid their own way. They made piles of cash based on a free exchange of products. They provided entertainment and people willingly paid for the entertainment. They built their own tracks by trading commodities with those who wanted to freely. But no more.

Nascar is now on the bandwagon with illegitimate force and transactions made by unwilling participants. They are now getting money from government transactions and government entities who spend money that is not theirs. Nascar has given up and joined the socialists that dominate in government today. It is indeed a sad day for this country.

If anyone knows where John Galt is, please send him my direction.
