NC Gas Tax Increase
This past week,
NC Conservatives presented the government
with a petition asking that the recent gas tax increase, that will not be used for roads, to be repealed.
Don't look for it to happen any time soon...or later.
In order for the gas tax to be repealed, the Democrats leading North Carolina would have to agree to it. However, Jim Black, who has a personal checkbook that draws on tax revenues, is highly unlikely to support reducing the amount in "his" account.
The petition presented had over 22,000 signatures of NC voters on it, asking for the tax to be repealed. Check out the website for more facts about that "gas" tax and where the money goes. Then thank North Carolina Democrats for ensuring that you have to pay more taxes.

I think raising the gas tax is robbery of MY money. When gas prices are bloated from greed anyway then our representatives decide to get their share of the pie. It's time for another Boston Tea Party.

I need to do some research and find a similar product in today's economy that is similar to the place that tea took in Revolutionary economy. I'm not sure there is such a thing, however...

Two things need to be done for our highways. We need to spend the gas tax money on our highways and we need to make Truck Driving a profession again. These people we are allowing to drive these 80,000 lb killing machines on our highways is rediculous. Just ask the parents of the 7 children recently killed in Florida.

They are professionals. Do you have any idea how much they have to go through and how much they have to pay to use the roads?
In NC, the majority of the accidents with trucks can actually be blamed on poor road conditions -- such as roads that should be larger than they are or have more lanes.

Democrats have controlled NC for so long, that the voting public has become "democratic sheep", and like sheep we are being led to the slaughter. We deserve what we vote for.

And they've run it so long that they have drawn the district lines to absolutely ensure that Republicans can never obtain control -- that's the hardest part!
