They're blatant liars.
The Democrat's own state Department of Transportation estimates that this year there was a $40 million shortfall in roads spending (not including the shortfalls of every other year in the past 2 decades). At the same time, THIS YEAR, the Democrats in the Legislature voted to GIVE Goodyear $40 million. Seriously. The Democrats just told Goodyear, "Gee, we like you. If you stay open, we'll give you $40 million in cash."
Again, Democrats give $40 million to Goodyear and we're $40 million short on roads this year.
It's completely and totally wrong. This is the opposite of what a free government does. The people who support such a move claim it's an "investment" in jobs. They will point to the two thousand jobs that Goodyear provides and talk about how that's money given to "the community." Those people are anti-freedom socialists, whether they even know it or not. Government should NEVER be "investing" in, well, anything. That's not the function of a free society's government.
If Goodyear wants to move, let them move. Government should NEVER be in the business of determining which businesses they want to stay or which they want to go. That's NOT freedom, that's pure socialism. If this were a government based on freedom, the proper response would be, "I'm sorry, we don't have the authority to pick and choose which companies get huge piles of cash, so no one gets any. And besides, we need that money to provide government services -- like ROADS."
Remember when you vote -- Democrats in North Carolina honestly and seriously do NOT want to build roads. Instead, they want to control the means of production and decide which companies they will favor and which ones they dislike.
