NC Property Rights Coalition
A new group just announced their formation in North Carolina to protect property rights: The North Carolina Property Rights Coalition.
One of their first goals is to "push for an amendment to the North Carolina Constitution that prohibits the use of governmentÂ’s eminent domain power to seize private property for economic development purposes."

The North Carolina Property Rights Coalition (NCPRC) is a 501(c) (4) non-profit coalition of individuals, organizations, businesses and community leaders dedicated to advancing and protecting the rights and interests of property owners, as well as revealing misuses and threats of eminent domain throughout North Carolina
One of their first goals is to "push for an amendment to the North Carolina Constitution that prohibits the use of governmentÂ’s eminent domain power to seize private property for economic development purposes."
An admirable goal, certainly, but not one likely to get much traction. The Democrats simply do not like the idea of people owning property, and the average person doesn't understand the implications of the Kelo decision (from what I've personally seen).
But hey, good luck with it, and I'll help out any way I can. I would really like to be able to own property in the state -- even if it is a concept that would be new and different.
