Property Rights: Riviera Beach, FL
Perhaps, since you hadn't heard about the fight for property rights in Riviera Beach, Fl, you thought it was all settled. If you thought that, you'd be wrong. Instead, government officials in Florida continue to use their monopoly power on force to attempt to
harass and intimidate any who oppose them.
Governments are supposed to serve people, not the other way around. Any government official that's found using the power of government to harass and intimidate should be removed from power immediately -- but if the government controls the power, what power can be used? When the mayor sends the police to harass you, what choice do you have? Who can you call? Where do you go for help?

Thank you very much. Spam got to the point where it was crushing the server, so we had to turn trackbacks off.

We've got a big to-do here in Fairfax County. The Zoning people issued building permits for houses with roofs higher than the limit of 35 feet. Now there are many people who've paid for McMansions and can't get their occupancy permits.
We don't own our own homes. The damn County does!

Oh, no! How DARE they build 36-foot buildings! The world is coming to an end! A-hole bureaucrats.
