This time there's primarily two facts that the NAACP doesn't like. First is that more than 60% of Charlotte's gang members are black -- and the majority of victims of gang violence are also black. The second fact that offends the NAACP is that 85% of the people observed committing crimes during July 4th celebrations in Charlotte were black.
Know what's offensive to me? That so many people are joining gangs and comitting crimes. However, the NAACP clearly has no problem with the gangs or with the crimes. They are only complaining because someone pointed out that the majority of people committing the crime happen to be black. We're told today that we're supposed to "celebrate" our differences and point out different cultures. Know what? ANY culture that shows they have a tendency to commit crimes and join gangs stinks. Yes, that is offensive. I'm offended. But not because those who are committing crimes happen to have a certain skin color -- but because the culture of that sort of person is celebrated instead of condemned.
I think the NAACP needs to take more lessons from Bill Cosby...
