The General Assembly will reconvene May 9 for the short session and conservatives hope that despite the leftÂ’s domination of the State Legislature, and the GovernorÂ’s Mansion, we might still be able to address some important issues with commonsense conservative solutions. This short session conservatives should look to accomplish seven things.
This is an introduction to the conference I will be attending next weekend to live blog as a "member of the media." There are seven clear points and ideas that might get addressed by the General Assembly. Over the next week leading up to the conference, each day around 10am EST, I'll post one of the seven points and discuss it.
Yes, the General Assembly is absolutely dominated by control-freak lefties. The Democrats certainly rule with an iron fist, giving no quarter and caring nothing for anyone who says that they are a conservative. However, it is an election year, so certainly the Democrats will need something to crow about during the election.
Since the people of North Carolina don't like Democrat ideas, look for the Democrats to either outright lie, as Easley did to get elected governor last time; or to just take some Conservative ideas and claim them for their own -- just until the election is over.
If you're in North Carolina, or just interested in conservative politics, be sure to stop by and see what the conservatives of North Carolina want this year -- and whether Ogre agrees with them.
