Taxation without Representation
One of the few valid purposes of governments is to protect rights. However, whenever it comes to one government agency getting more tax money, no matter the purpose, reason, or method, NO other government agency will step in and uphold the law.

We had a commuter tax when I lived in Philadelphia. Pittsburgh is trying for one now too. bastards!

And Charlotte is working on a commuter tax. I just cannot comprehend taxation without representation. Once I went to Tampa and rented a car. The car rental fee was $40 a day. The taxes were $41 a day.
I have not been back to Tampa since.
