Regarding amnesty, as Representative Sue Myrick said to President Bush:
No only "No," but "Hell, No!"
No amnesty. No "guest worker" programs. No free ride for "priests" protecting lawbreakers. No "400,000 new green cards." No 1.5 million illegals in the "agricultural industry." That bill that passed out of committee IS amnesty, no matter what anyone calls it.
What should be done is to enforce the law. At the federal level, all government business should be done in English, period. All federal funding for education, welfare, health and human services, etc., should be done in English. If a state wants to speak Spanish, let that state pay for it. And yes, businesses should be punished for hiring criminal aliens.
Priests should not be suddenly shielded. Are they allowed to hide bank robbers and murderers, simply because they're priests? These criminal aliens are not allowed to vote (even if they can in North Carolina) -- so do not worry about losing an election because you didn't give them freebies from the US Government.
This is a major problem that is costing America billions and billions of dollars. Do not give in and cave giving non-citizens my money. STOP the giveaways. Build a fence. You don't have to deport them -- just stop giving them free education, free health care, and free housing -- and punish the businesses that enable them to continue TO BREAK THE LAW.
