CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Former Charlotte Mayor Richard Vinroot has joined the Board of Directors of the N.C. Property Rights Coalition, Chairman Kieran Shanahan has announced. Vinroot was the Republican Party’s nominee for governor in 2000.
"We are grateful that someone with Richard Vinroot's history of public service has joined our team," said Shanahan. "On behalf of property owners all across North Carolina, I thank Richard Vinroot for taking a public stand in defense of our private property."
"Private property ownership is an important part of our free society," said Vinroot. "We must join together to ensure that government respects and protects the rights of property owners. I am glad to be part of this important effort."

The North Carolina Property Rights Coalition (NCPRC) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit coalition of individuals, organizations, businesses and community leaders dedicated to advancing and protecting the rights and interests of property owners, as well as revealing misuses and threats of eminent domain throughout North Carolina.
