In case you weren't aware, the VA Mortgage Center is sponsoring a contest to determine the best mil-blogger based on votes by the public. And they're offering a $5,000 prize! There's a number of GREAT blogs on that list. I read a few of them quite often. But one of them got a vote request to me, so I'm going to vote for him. Asking for a vote is half the battle. Here's the request:

As some of you know, Sgt Hook has been nominated for Best Milblog over at VA Mortgage Center Blog and the voting has been tight. A big thank you to those who have helped keep me afloat this far, but I think it's time to throw my "Hail Mary" pass in hopes of moving into the lead with just 24 hours left in the voting.

For those who don't know, should I win, I plan on using the prize money to finance a trip to Washington D.C. in May for the annual Milblog Conference, with any leftovers going to the Fisher House.

As I throw this long ball, I'm asking you to consider voting for Sgt Hook and asking everyone you know on the planet to do the same. Thank you for that consideration in advance, and if I don't score that touchdown, I hope to see you all around Sgt Hook in the future.
