War on Drugs

Folks, we've lost. While many complain about the money spent on the war in Iraq and the war on terror, how about the families destroyed by and the massive amount of money spent on the war on drugs? At what point do we declare victory?

Need more evidence? How about 5,000 policemen who made a video opposing the war on drugs? And don't forget -- if you are called to jury duty in a criminal case regarding drugs, you are completely, 100% within your rights to declare a "not guilty" decision, no matter the facts. Juries ARE allowed to ignore laws -- that's why they exist!

1 Because they incarcerate the victims who have been hooked on the drugs instead of getting them treatment so they no longer need to purchase it. They don't put drug deals to death - like I think they should; the big cartels for sure, or put small timers in prison for life.

2 I don't agree with treatment, either, to be honest -- at least not government treatment. If the government would stop treating drug addicts, you can be sure private groups would be happy to do it -- and those who refused treatment, it sounds harsh, but let them kill themselves. And if they harm someone else before that, punish them for the harm they did, not for carrying around some dried leaves!
