4 ZURICH (Thomson Financial) Richemont expects currency effects to negatively impact its second half performance, a spokesman said following the release of expectation beating first half results. 'In the first half we had very strong margins, which we are unlikely to maintain,' group finance director Richard Lepeu said. Nevertheless, the Swiss luxury goods maker expects to keep both full year sales and margins above the previous year's level, he said adding that prices have already been hiked to protect margins. Overall, Richemont has seen little impact form the subprime market crises with demand still going strong even in the US...
